I still reckon Martinez is nailed on, and may well have been first choice all along this summer but we are having to wait until 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' have got off the pot.

Worrying whispers about GMac though, possibly with a DOF already within the club.

I thought that the board had ruled out a DoF?
Who is 'already within the club' that could operate as a DoF?
Just what is this fascination with bloody Martinez?

It's rumoured that Glenn Roeder could be DoF with GMac as manager.

Oh shit!

Holloway looks like Stewie Griffin: The Insomniac Years. He's rubbed every football club he's ever worked with up the wrong way and seems determined to kill whoever he's managing off in a blaze of personal glory. I don't want Ian Holloway's Aston Villa, I just want a manager who manages and does it with the minimum of fuss.

Would people think more favourably of Simon Grayson if Brian Little and K-Mac assisted him?

All three worked together at Leicester and Villa, Brian Little's involvement would placate some of the fans (of my age anyway), and it might be seen as a chance to recreate a Little-Evans-Gregory type triumvirate.

I’m not advocating it, just thought it might be in Lerner’s thinking.

Having seen the result of the last odds-on favourite linked with the job, I'm not letting that worry me.

Bookies know no more than we do, being favourite means nothing. How many different favourites have there been so far?

All the whispers I've heard concern Lambert or Martinez.

What is concerning them? Should we be concerned too?

I've got some scarves for sale. Half 'Villa' -  half 'Only if the manager meets my approval.' They are £10 each and stocks are running out quick.
