Rangnick - there's a name if they want to think outside the box.

We need to make sure that once Randy has contacted Paul Lambert he does not end up having dinner in Delia's kitchen!

I'm hoping the board are going to pull a rabbit out of the hat. We desperately need a manager who is going to play good football, who will reinvigorate the club. It's really important they get this right.

Is RL in England or the States at the moment?  Also, who is doing the selecting of "persons in whom we may be interested"?  Is this all being left to Faulkner?

Agree totally Paul, but that's what also makes me nervous.
If you can be fuckwitted enough to appoint the beyond dire McCatpiss, then Lord knows what else they're capable of.

I dont see why AVB is out of the question.
He's still a young manager finding his way. He's not Guus Hiddink.
Plus he's out of work.

By all accounts he's looking for a long term project to get his teeth into. Well, that's exactly what we are.
I wouldn't be at all suprised if he was a target.
I'm with you on this opinion.

I have been told:

THE NEW MANAGER WILL BE ANNOUNCED BEFORE THIS WEEKEND. PROBABLY TOMORROW.

No point speculating further. Sorry for shouting.

Agreed Fletch, but I'm hoping that disaster and the subsequent resulting season will have scared them into being competant! I'm hoping they've looked abroad for a manager, as I think we need to a complete change at the club. The reason I want a manager from abroad is that I don't want preconceptions about our players, no being mates with them and stuff like that. They get judged on their merits and if they aren't up to it, they get the boot. Also that manager as suggested above needs to create a team that plays good football that will excite the fans.

No arguments from me there.
Now let's see if they have the balls or just go for a 'safe' appointment.

Here’s a name that not been mentioned yet, Dan Petrescu. Done well with his Romanian club( I presume he’s still there), got them into the champs league and has got knowledge of the English game.

Personally I’d be happy with either Lambert or Poyet.

Van Gaal linked with ''The Mighty Reds YNWA' in a "managerial role" - which I presume is a sort of DoF job. Source: Guardian.

Lambert has denied looking for a new role and claims not to be interested in moving from NCFC. Source R5L on their 3.00pm bulletin.
