Why Solksjaer? A season or 2 coaching Man.Utd reserves and year in Nowrway....WOW!!! I seriously wonder if Lerner/ Faulkner have any idea what to do.

I'd imagine they've thought "who are the most talked about up and coming young managers in Europe, and let's talk to them if they're interested"

I think they are absolutely right to do that.

I'd be much much more concerned if they did the same shit thing as the last two times - they put PL experience at the top of the list and found themselves fishing in a very small pool, and then found out that said pool was full of rusting supermarket trolleys and no decent fish.

Give them a chance, I say. No, OGS hasn't won anything as a manager, but that means fuck all. Our last manager had won stuff in Scotland and England, and look how shite he was.

Precisely it would indicate a much more adventurous and potentially ambitious approach.

I like the theory put earlier that norwich have a game at celtic on tues night which has a lot of emotion involved for lambert- after that game it may well be goodbye delia, hello randy.

I imagine faulkner would negotiate the deal as who would want ' to get randy with delia'.

Wonder if Barcelona supporters felt the same about Guardiola?

We have to get the right man irrespective of who he ends up being. My reservations with Solskjaer are as much to do with the media circus and Man U love in that would follow him as it is do with his qualifications. That said, having been brought through one of the most successful clubs in our lifetimes, under one of the greatest managers of all time will have had a positive effect. If he has been able to take that with him into his own career then even better. There would be no danger of him joining Man U either. They'd be looking for a proven name in the game when Ferguson hangs it up. Maybe one day it is someone like Solksjaer, but not any time soon.

Interesting comments from our former Scottish Manager here - not strictly about our current search but good endorsement of the club's pedigree.

Nice comments and no bitterness at all- well said alex!

There are a few things Lerner and Faulkner should have learned from their recent fuck-ups.

One is that if a manager has a history of dire football and flirting with/embracing relegation then that is unlikely to change.  That should rule out McCarthy.

Another is never to ever listen to that gobshite Ferguson again.  Ever.

If they are considering OGS on their own initiative, fair enough, I just hope that fecker hasn't got his finger in the pie again.

Interesting that OGS won the title in Norway at a club that had never won it, at his first attempt, and in a league where Rosenborg had won every one of the previous twenty league titles, bar two.

That is quite impressive.

I wonder what is style of football is like   , but what worries me the norwegian league is like the old third division , its alot different than the prem .  If molde say , reached the quartes of the champoins league next season , he would look like a damn fine good manager.
