I reckon Norway is a bluff.

He's actually halfway across the bridge connecting Denmark and Sweden, piecing together two halves of two different football managers who have been sawn in half.

Yes.

Him and Faulkner together could be like our own Jedward.

mebbe he's gone to denmark but he's flown with ryanair and norway's the nearest they get?

Martin Laursen...

Now that's more like it!  Get a Villa man in on some level. (Too early for Martin to be manager, though.)

He's been managing in Denmark, for what it's worth.

Maybe he's gone home for pre-season?

Well, the media would love us. Not that that's a good thing in itself, but we wouldn't be last on MOTD every week.

Agree with pauli'.

Baring a few ex Villa players there's no potential manager out there who would see us as anything more than a rung up the ladder.  We'd like to think differently but that's the reality.

If they were successful for us, got us into the top 4 say, they'd at least want a crack at the CL which would also look well on the CV.

Their ambition might be to our benefit for at least some success.

If we did get OGS in, it seems obvious to me that we'd have him for about a year before Fergie retires and names him as his successor. He wouldn't be a long-term appointment, in my opinion.

It'd be nice for us to get some compensation for a manager for a change.

Just in case anyone has any lingering worries...

Rumours of Villa’s interest in Mick McCarthy have bemused the board who are looking to move Villa in an exciting new direction and are not considering the former Wolves manager.

Christ, eastie.

I know we take the piss out of your tendency to believe anything on SSN, but you do know how wikipedia works, don't you?

So you think he'd win the title with us next season then?

There isn't a manager in Europe, whoever they played for,  who wouldn't want the Man Utd job.

To get the United job in a year, he would have to get us in the top 6 at least in the same period.

I am happy with that!
