So if Mick is the favourite with the bookies where exactly are Lambert /Martinez supposed to be going.
Possibly Kenny has been relieved of his duties (or got a damn good telling off) but that frees up one position only

Unless its Martinez to Everton..and David Moyes to Villa Park!!!

There is absolutely no way in ten million years and a day that we will appoint Mick Mcarthy,
not after the season we have just had and the statements from the club officials

So why am I still a bit worried then ?

I would quite like Rodgers and the style he would bring.

I thought he spoke very well in fairness, Faulkner that is, not Murphy! We shall see.

I just caught it on WM and have to say, I thought Mutphy took him to the cleaners.

All that "well, with the benefit of hindsight, it is easy to say it was a bad appointment" stuff - Murphy was clearly having none of that.

What else could Faulkner say though? He did say that he and Randy 'put their hands up' to the appointment. I reckon that's fair enough!

Even Paddy Power was incredulous about Mick on TS earlier!
I thin Rodgers will be too expensive if the £5m get out clause is correct, which is a shame.

It'll be one of Lambert, Martinez, Rodgers or AVB.  Yes please to any of them. Originally, I didn't really want Rodgers but he's worth a shot.

I wouldn't worry too much about McCarthy if this is just based on betting patterns. The time to panic is when some reputable journalists start reporting that he's in the picture.

Bookies out here have Steve Nicol as a dark horse at 33-1. Ignored it initially at 50-1 but it's fallen so something is happening. He's been managing in the MLS with the New England Revolution. Apparently Randy has been impressed by him and he has a winning mentality from his playing days at Liverpool. He has won the MLS Cup and been coach of the year here.

He shouldn't have said it is easy to judge with the benefit of hindsight, as not only dud they have the entire fan base telling them it was mental, and McLeish's track record to look at.

Oh and he also said Mczleish had a great track record. Yes, a track record of a goal a game and getting relegated a lot.

Sorry, but I find it hard to trust them not to do something mental again, and that interview - though he said a lot of good things - hasn't really done much to convince me.

I think it is Randy that has put the money on  McCarthy , its so it makes Lambert or Rodgers more desperate to come to us and they think they are going to miss out and we can get them cheaper  . ;)

This is a tiny, tiny market. It takes hardly any money to move someone from 33 to 25.

If the board hadn't made the mental decision to appoint McLeish last year, stuff like this wouldn't scare the crap out of me.
