'Desperately want some stability here'

'we want to find someone who can reinvigorate the club'

'someone who can inspire the fans, deliver on the pitch'

They know the problems we've had with our previous manager, and they've made that clear - perhaps best shown through his sacking one day after the season ended.

It's not going to be McCarthy.

That 'age is just a number, but...' was indicative. The 'but' slipped out there. Hopefully that does mean a young manager.

'Randy here for the full term'

'trying to be smart about what we do'

'it's now a fresh start for us, about a new manager, bouncing back, getting Villa back where we feel we should be'

'Got to get this right'

'Phone been going none stop, very focused on this, aim to give this everything we have got'

'we don't want to hang around now'

Murphy thinks we should go for Rodgers. I agree, I just don't think we'd get him.

I've found out where this McCarthy thing came from.
A mate of mine was in Corals in town this morning when Randy Lerner came in and put a million quid on McCarthy to get the Villa job. As he walked out he was laughing out loud and was heard to say wait 'till they see those odds come down. That'll teach those fu*kers on H&V to give me a hard time, especially that Risso guy.

Yeah like kicking a teammate in the face during a training session! Upmarket Barton in my opinion.

Which he fully held his hands up to and was very contrite and humble about. He speaks in a very considered and thoughtful manner in my view about a range of topics. Still, off topic as I said so probably best to discontinue!

When he was 21 and by his own admission, a bit wild. Then, surviving a brain tumour probably does teach a bit of humility. We've all done daft things, he learned from it Barton doesn't, no comparison!
