i think if Dalglish is sacked Martinez will be a shoe in at Liverpool,

 i would put a few quid on but he's already favourite and the odds are rubbish,
although i would love him at Villa he is probably a better fit for them, they have been bought up on pass and move football and probably have players more capable than us of playing that way at first.

whereas Lambert is probably a better fit right now for Villa, as he is more of a thinking mans MON and more of what we are used to,
 the only reason i would still put Martinez at the top of my wish list, is because i think he could given time change the whole culture at Villa, in a similar way to what Wenger did at Arsenal

Perhaps the real question is Who Wants to be our New Manager!!

Will Lambert, Martinez et al swop from their present job to come to B6. Looking at the final league positions and with Lerner/Faulkner in charge, is the Villa job more attractive, and if the Liverpool job becomes vacant, they are likely to be a preferred choice for an up and coming manager.

Unless Randy offers significant transfer funds, VP may not be an attractive choice except for dead legs like Bruce etc.

Faulkner said earlier that relegation was too close a call this time so i hardly think they're going to employ a bloke who just about kept his side up on the last day of the season on goal difference 12 months ago. They've had their fingers burnt with McLeish and besides they need to sell season tickets.
