If they appoint McCarthy they can forget ever being given the benefit of the doubt by the fans ever again. They have to know this already, don't they? Surely they can't appoint McCarthy.

I would feel sorry for anyone having bought a season ticket after McLeish got sacked , then to find out McCarthy is the new manager .    Can we keep away from Mac's please.

I'd offer to eat my hat if they appointed McCarthy but I ate it round about this time last year when McLelish got the gig.

I think it should be 2 or 3 of our senior defenders as player/coaches.

Lots of on the piss bonding sessions and swigs of brandy at half time when it's cold. Compulsary not so crafty ciggies/bacon butties after training and then invite one of our 82 legends over to give an insight into what an honour it is to play for Villa, then beat him up afterwards, 'as he's not as rich as us like'. Then tootle off home, at least 100 miles away in any direction from Brum.

Cockney scouser on Talksport claims Liverpool are the British Version of Barcelona because of the expectancy there

what great team would they be compared to for delusion ???  hilarious     :D

More athletico madrid tbh, have been a big club for a period of their history and had some success outside that but the rest of the time there's been a big media darling down the road that has overshadowed them.

I never have a problem with people making mistakes, just so long as they learn from them and don't repeat them.

McCarthy would be repeating the Scottish Manager mistake.

However, I very much doubt there's any truth in it whatsoever.

Poyet would be an intersting choice. But if some fans question Martinez and Lambert god knows what the reaction would be like if he were approached. McCarthy rumour isnt even worth talking about. Feel sorry for the morons who have actually put money on him.

Got to go for Paul Lambert.

12month rolling contract at Norwich and has expressed frustration at the lack of funds to develop the canaries further.
The board need to be firm and concise with their 1st choice as this appointment has to be spot on.
Lambert im sure would see Villa as a 'step up' the managerial ladder. Norwich play good attacking football which would be a much needed tonic after the Eck disaster of 2011-2012.
