Capello anyone ?
Dont like him.   I want to be able to actually like the next manager.
Mr. Saunders wasn't exactly the most likable of personalities. But there you go, do you want someone to trot out platitudes at the end of every match or do you want a bastard who will win us trophies?

Saunders wasn't likeable?   Okay.

He would be okay for a season and then hit a ceiling like MON.

Capello is almost certain to go to chelsea IMO even if di Mateo wins  at the weekend.
Of the locals
Rodgers Win % 41.17 (prem only)
Lambert Win % 42.46
Moyes Win %    41.86
 would all do.
Didier Deschamps, Slaven Bilic or Paolo Di Canio if they would come, would too.

A sense of relief and release just now. All I can say is please don't make another 'mistake' Mr Lerner!

At the moment it feels like the world's our oyster, but of the candidates that seem at least a little bit gettable, I think I'd be pleased with Martinez, Lambert, or Di Matteo. And there's a bunch of those foreign, non-premier-league-experienced types out there, too, although of course that would be mental.

I personally don't think there is any chance at all of the likes of Villas Boas, Moyes, Benitez.

I wanted Paul Lambert 12 months ago and nothing that he's done since has dissuaded me from my view that he would do a very good job for us.

Saunders wasn't likeable?   Okay.
I met Mr. Saunders on a fair few occasions during his time at Villa Park and believe me he came across as someone who was driven by his vision for the club and that he would do anything in his power to achieve those aims. He never gave me the impression that he went out of his way to court the fans acceptance of him. And having met and spoken to some of the players that played for him, I know that he never went out of his way to endear himself to them either. Despite the fact that those same players would have walked on fire for him.
I'm not interested in whether the new manager is a 'likable fellow' or not. All I want is a manager that has a clear vision of where he wants to take the club and a board that buys into that vision.

Would be the absolute top of my list without a doubt, sadly he's going onto bigger things than us.

Slaven Bilic has already agreed to become Lokomotiv Moscow boss after Croatia's Euro 2012 adventure.
