Capello anyone ?
Dont like him.   I want to be able to actually like the next manager.

Too old - whether we like it or not we are a project and need somebody with age on their side and a big desire to see the job through. Not short term fixes this time.

McLeish was quite a likeable fellow. Quite frankly I'd take Harold Shipman managing us if he won us a cup.. Maybe..

We need 5 players IMO minimum, between 22 and 27 but with experience of a fair few games.

Also I thought Capello was awful for England - clueless at the WC finals.

I thought he was alright when he toured Europe winning the league for twenty years.

Whoever gets the job needs to be up for one hell of a challenge because individually and collectively the playing squad he will inherit is quite frankly shit.

My point precisely. Be under no illusions that once the dust settles, whoever we employ has a monumental job on their hands to haul this team away from the bottom six.

never underestimate though the value of confidence, morale and good coaching. It can do wonders even for players that look like duffers.

I agree. Whilst the original point is not to be scoffed at for one second, I never thought there was much difference in quality this season between some of the teams near or at the bottom and the likes of Everton, Newcastle and Stoke that a good dose of confidence and momentum couldn't put right. The crying shame of a season like the one just passed is that the league is so weak at the moment and yet we were unable to take advantage

I go on what I saw with my own eyes and he was way out of his depth and in it just for the money.

I'm still dizzy with relief that McLeish has gone, but, I would like to see us use some imagination and bravery with the next appointment. Not Bruce or McCarthy, that would be a like for like move. What about Koeman. He has had a great season at Feyenoord, has loads of experience in various European leagues. Didn't like him as a player, but Ithink he'd be a good move.

The moose from Talksport has just tweeted:

@Moose_talkSPORT: Regarding Villa and Paul Lambert I've been told They wanted to talk to him but I dont know if they got permission from Norwich

James Nursery tweeted a few weeks back that if we approached Lambert, he would be interested.

Exciting times.

Mr. Saunders wasn't exactly the most likable of personalities. But there you go, do you want someone to trot out platitudes at the end of every match or do you want a bastard who will win us trophies?
