I just hope the next appointment is handled better than the last.

The fudge the board made of it made Villa look second rate

Steve Bruce has taken his house off the market, according to a bloke I know who is an estate agent. May be nothing in it.

Heard you the first time but not biting.

Anybody apart from:
Roeder
Curbishley
McCarthy
Connor
McLaren
Avram Grant

Risso confirms he wouldn't mind Steve Bruce as manager.

Shit.

in a way i want it to be a name no one has  mentioned before, someone left field, and edgy, someone who's very choice would say randy's grown a pair and is involved and engaged in the Villa again? Just a thought
Dean Saunders?
Chris Powell?

AVB is heavily linked with Roma and I have it on good authority Flores would be a disaster!
Thought Roma had lined up an ex player? Can't think of his name though

Couild someone please explain to me the attraction of AVB. Unsuccessful in the Premiership, and moderately successful for one season with a team in a second tier foreign league.

He's got the word Vila in his name!

It must be somebody we can give a free rein to - a project for them to develop it into their club (like Moyes I guess). With the right backing etc I think it would appeal to Martinez, Rodgers etc..
Most football people know that whoever could get it right at Villa would be onto a big thing.......

Whilst I am pleased it is the case, doesn't it seem just two seconds since we were discussing all of this last time round with at least some of the same names. Not sure my brain can take all the arguing about who would be best again

Disagree I applaud at how quickly the board have reacted. Now we can all have a wonderful summer of speculation and renewed hope!

That isn't what I meant at all, never mind. I was talking about how it seems two seconds since we were knee deep in this debate last summer. Frightening how quickly time passes

Whoever gets the job needs to be up for one hell of a challenge because individually and collectively the playing squad he will inherit is quite frankly shit.

Martinez is favourite with the bookies and I dont want him. Reasons - dont want another manager who is fighting relegation every season with his previous club. And if anyone says what about the style of football? Well it can't be that good as Wigan are favourites to go down every year, so in my opinion its not good enough.

Lambert is second fave and I dont want him. Reasons - well I remember George Burley having a great first season, Phil Brown another...what makes Lambert so special. Reminds me of another Oneill, plays with 2 lumps up front and is teams work hard. Didnt McLeish's Birmingham have the tag of "hard workers"?

I feel Villa need to move with the times, when was the last time we had a manager with real credentials. Not I worked in Scotland and won some pots, not I blew £150 million and relegated a club and not I once played for a season at Villa! We need right now, not next season or 10, right now we need a real manager who know the science of football from top to bottom. Someone who has European pedigree, someone who commands respect for what he has achieved in the game, someone like Wenger who sensed his club needed a vision.

Im fed up of half arsed appointments who last 1 year and get sacked. I blame Lerner and Faulkner for being as clueless as the ginger guy we had in charge 10 minutes ago, and its now up to them to show "US" what real credentials they have in getting the right man for many years in charge of our club.

What???   We've got Alan Hutton don't you know...!!!

Agreed, whoever comes in has to have the biggest clearance since Big Ron when he took over from Dr Joe.

My point precisely. Be under no illusions that once the dust settles, whoever we employ has a monumental job on their hands to haul this team away from the bottom six.
