I wouldn't go for Houghton, I think we should be looking for someone with a bit more experience for the next one.

I wouldn't go for Ray Houghton either. I wouldn't be averse to Chris Hughton having an interview though.

If he ever gets to be our manager I'll make the effort to spell his name correctly, until then he can fucking lump it and be glad he's even being spoken of.

So there.

Isn't Chris Houghton on a rolling one year contract?

Go for David Moyes.  I can hear the cries now, "why would he want to come to Villa?" Think small time, act small time.  Surely the club's austerity measures are at an end, there aren't too many more players to get rid off after Heskey, Carlos and Guzan leave!! Hopefully we are at a better place to attract better quality Managers and not shit like Mcleish.

With our board's expertise, they'll sack McLeech and then appoint Steve Kean!

Actually, that's not even funny is it? Shit!

Hoddle? Really?

Is that Glenn Hoddle who hasn't managed seriously in five years after an unsatisfactory spell in the second division? He has a flashing neon sign above him reading YESTERDAY'S MAN.

He's also quite content with running his Spanish soccer schools and doing a bit of TV work here and there.

Newby,
someone with connections close to the board informed us a couple of days ago on here that we have approached Moyes on more than one occasion in the past,
and the answer has always been no, we have no reason not to believe him,

so i think this one is a non starter

Gus Poyet for me. He's young, ambitious and believes in open, attacking football. Has done a great job at Brighton and is probably ready for the step up. He's probably taken The Seagulls as far as he can without serious investment. He's also got a swagger about him and wouldn't take any shit from the "egos" in the squad.

I hadn't realised that, thanks.  In that case, I'd like the club to revisit their choice from last season, Roberto Martinez.  Hopefully he see's that Villa is a step up and his loyalty trip with Wigan is now over.

Martinez worries me because he spends most of the season in the bottom 3 only to reemerge in the last month or so
