I like Lambert . He is 2012 1980s team .    Get the crosses in and pile it in . On the floor or direct , whatever It takes to win .

He loves to win , whoever he is playing .     Goes Mardi If he loses , even if its Manure away . He is a winner.

mardy - proper east mids word is that

Another vote for Lambert - reminds me of O'Neill without the pomp and circumstance.

Put a poll up and let's have some fun with it, and don't forget to include Monty and Johne!

Lambert for me too, though I'd be happy with Poyet too. I didn't want Martinez in the summer and still don't. Not only are Wigan below us (us ffs!) but he's in his third year there isn't he? He should have had more an impact by now?

If anyone says 'yes but imagine what he could do with Randy's backing' I'll shoot first and not ask questions at all!  ;)

I don't see why people are warming to this 'piling in the crosses' approach which we've seen the limitations of massively. Even with massive backing, MON-ball had huge limitations, and Lambert would not have that backing. The lack of a defeatist attitude alone would win us more games than we have this season (McLeish has been particularly poor because of that), but I don't really think it will end up that much more entertaining or take us forward as a club really.

Considering we rarely put a decent cross in do we want a manager who seems to rely a fair bit on piling the crosses in?

I'm not convinced Lambert solely goes for a direct style, as I've said he varies it. I've seen Norwich play good passing football.

The difference between then and now being that safety from relegation before the clocks change would be taking the club forward at the moment. And MON-ball (as you quite nicely phrase it) is absolutely fine for that.

If you provide a sensible selection, I'll happily oblige.

Cheers Sir! People are offering up Paul Lambert, Gus Poyet, Roberto Martinez, Monty & John e or A. Foreigner. How about that? Any others?

Absolutely, but he'd have to go further down that route to a) get the best out of our better players, b) provide the sort of entertainment we've been craving and c) to take us further as a club.

Well yeah, but is it really Lambert possibly and then that level of appointment?

True, but I'm an optimist and I'd still like to see us aiming as high as possible. There's some real potential at this club waiting to be unlocked. A safe-pair-of-hands appointment would see us not fall into ruin, but I still think we should aim a little higher than that.

The clue is in the word 'sensible'. Lambert, Poyet, Martinez and who else?
