Dean Saunders? He has just got Doncaster relegated!Great choice to take us down to an all time low.Graham Taylor would be a great asset to the club.Don't rate Southgate either. If we are going to play with a team of youngsters then put KMac in charge with Sid,after all they have worked well with these youngsters and they both have massive passion for our club.

in fairness to Saunders he inherited a doomed squad anyway and had only been in the job about half a season - but i take your point.

Martinez?.... what would make him take it now? we're in a worse position than last year when he didn't want to know

I suppose the argument here is that although Wigan and Villa are both now lower league sides, it is Villa who have the greatest potential.  Martinez has stayed another season and (if) he keeps Wigan up agian, you could say he's taken them as far as he can on their resources and now it is time to see if he can step up.  Lerner would have to assure him that there was money available of course.

Depends on what division we're in next season.Curbishley is a solid choice but would leave us fans feeling fairly underwhelmed.I'd love to get Lambert in but I think should he leave Norwich he'll be looking at a bigger job than the Villa one.I personally think we should bring in a young hungry manager who has something to prove. The squad needs a major overhaul and I want someone with the stomach for the fight.

I wonder where would we have been now had McAllister been given the job full time.  We finished last season well, plus he knows the club & all the players bar the new signings.  I don't like the fella, but could be a candidate?

We could do a lot worse than Hoddle (questionable past aside). Could potentially be ideal for our young squad.

The next manager needs to be young and on an upward trajectory for me. Lambert/Rodgers would be nice but they'll see us as a club in decline not worth the trouble. Same for Adkins and McDermott now they're up. Unless we promised them the sort of money we gave to MON to rebuild I doubt they'd come.

We need to look at the next generation, those who aren't coming up to the Premiership this year but are doing well and improving. Nigel Clough or Eddie Howe possibly (though I don't follow lower league stuff enough to know the best options). Then there's always someone like Laursen if he's showing potential.

My good mate who has been a season ticket holder at the Wolves for many years recently told me about when Glen i am the best player in the world ever Hoddle was in charge there. He destroyed the confidence of the players because of his big headed attitude and the fact that whatever the players did they were wrong.I dont think we need a big headed twat like that at our club to destroy players suffering from lack of confidence anyway.Hoddle is a twat.

If we didn't win anything at least we would get the coveted trophy for "The Ugliest Manager In The History Of Football" trophy thingy!Maybe worth a shot on that one.

If we do appoint a new manager it has to be someone who has a long term plan and who can [along with Randy's public backing] explain to the fans that he isn't looking for short term fixes but instead look to bring together a bunch of players that  can entertain and can be used as building blocks for the future. If we just go after quick fixes we will finish up back in the same situation that we are now. If we are brave then Randy's tag line could be 'The future's bright -The future is claret and blue'.
