Got this from Vital Villa.  Apparently two bookies are taking the odds for the next Villa manager.

Here's the Top 10 candidates according to Victor Chandler and Stan James -

Victor Chandler -

Benitez - 8/1
Curbishley - 10/1
MacDonald - 12/1
Solksjaer - 12/1
Martinez - 12/1
Bruce - 12/1
Moyes - 14/1
McCarthy - 14/1
Lambert - 14/1
Rodgers - 16/1

Stan James -

Benitez - 3/1
Curbishley - 6/1
Bruce - 8/1
MacDonald - 10/1
Solksjaer - 10/1
Martinez - 10/1
Moyes - 10/1
McCarthy - 12/1
Lambert - 12/1
Keane - 12/1

Bloody hell I hadn't even considered Benitez. Gimme gimme gimme.

I think if Holloway explained his 2 bit club like aston villa re charlie adams saga, (which i think it was)

I would welcome him on board!

We have good footballing kids and he plays champagne football on a tenants super budget!

I cant see Mcleish going...

we paid 2 mill for him and he is on 1 mil a year or so, so its going to cost us about 6 mil in total after compensation and sunken costs....

Out of interest what are odds for McLeish to go?

Paddypower and Stan James are both offering 9/2. He seems to be the bookies favourite by quite a bit.

The Curbishley and Bruce names in those odds are frightening, but I reckon the bookies are believing it could happen due to Lerner and Co's incompetence.

Well, by anyone's reckoning he should be. Everyone (other than the old-boys' network in the mainstream press) seems to know that he should go. Everyone except for the board, who only seem to listen to those old-boys' networks and to their own unfathomable loyalties.

To be honest, it's that self same incompetence which is why there'll be no managerial hunt this summer.

Please do not go down the Hodgson route, no thanks!)

Why not? Safe pair of hands. Experienced. Knowledgeable. Will steady the ship, just what we need for a couple of seasons.

And not the name to inspire much more than the hope of a (very) slightly safer season than McLeech. We need someone to make people sit up and take notice, get some excitement back at the club, that isn't Hodgson, though I agree, he'd be better than what we currently have!

If you were a friend of Alex Ferguson's, you'd know exactly who the next Villa Manager will be.

Clearly he's the Kingmaker.

My friend lived in Plymouth and went to the same gym that the Plymouth players used.

He said Holloway was an absolute joke and did not have a clue.  I appreciate that there is more to football than the science side but I’d want a manager that if he couldn’t do something then he would delegate it to someone else, or try and learn more about it.

In short Holloway is too old school for me and I do not think he could run the whole club in the manner than we need.

With regards to Di Canio.  There is no way I want a racist associated with the club.

I'd give it Southgate.

I want someone who's got some feeling for the club.

Agreed on Di Canio.

With regards to Holloway - any fun details? Always like a good "gobby twat is incompetent" story.
