This Dempsey to Liverpool stuff seems to be all one way traffic. Dempsey is the one holding out to see if Liverpool make a bid for him, not Liverpool actually making a bid for him.
Would be great for us if Liverpool do not make a bid and Dempsey starts bricking himself at around 7-8 oclock tonight. Maybe Lambert would put in a cheeky second bid, knowing that Dempsey wants out of Fulham sharpish. Could be fun later.

Really? I don't get it. He'd rather play for a club pushing for Europe/cups. So he has his first choice. He doesn't love Villa, or support Villa. He also didn't disrespect us, he just has a first choice.

Should Westwood tell us to do one because we tried to sign Stephens first?

Westwood hasn't said he doesn't want to join us.

I think the point Summers is making is that he doesn't appear to have been our first choice.

That is indeed my point. We wanted Stephens, couldn't agree a fee, went for someone else. We also had back up plans to Benteke. We'd all be pretty miffed if they said "Fuck off Villa, I wasn't first choice".

If had a choice to play for Tottenham or Stoke today, I'd want to play for Spurs.. but if they changed their mind, I'd happily sign a contract for Stoke.
