I'd take Dawson in a heartbeat. He'd sure everything up perfectly and give us some solidity and experience at the back. If £35k per week is true, then surely that's affordable for a player who we know could come in and hit the ground running.

Agreed Hoppo but I am afraid that the Premier League is to blame for this unbalanced sense of expectation from some of our supporters, we are not and unlikely to be in the near future owned by a ridiculously wealthy oil sheik. Let's get behind PL and all the players and show this money focused Premier League we can compete with the best of them.

This Dempsey to Liverpool stuff seems to be all one way traffic. Dempsey is the one holding out to see if Liverpool make a bid for him, not Liverpool actually making a bid for him.
Would be great for us if Liverpool do not make a bid and Dempsey starts bricking himself at around 7-8 oclock tonight. Maybe Lambert would put in a cheeky second bid, knowing that Dempsey wants out of Fulham sharpish. Could be fun later.

I wasn't aware that any Premier League club other than Man City were owned by oil sheikhs.  The likes of Sunderland, Swansea, Everton, Spurs, Stoke and all the other teams we've fallen behind certainly aren't.

The more the negativity goes on the more I blame MON as he was given money and he over spent massively and as a result, lots of fans believe we should still be spending the same amounts of money.
Expectations still remain high amongst alot of fans (not all fans) and they are being very inpatient.

Really? I don't get it. He'd rather play for a club pushing for Europe/cups. So he has his first choice. He doesn't love Villa, or support Villa. He also didn't disrespect us, he just has a first choice.

Should Westwood tell us to do one because we tried to sign Stephens first?
