I was actually thinking that myself, backwards is an understatement, and to think how fast we've gone backwards, pretty much championship standard, maybe bit harsh but we are pretty much further back than the o  leary days. The targets/ links are quite erm well not exciting

You're right Pav . It's very worrying .

(By the way , we have a mutual friend - the Sunderland fan with the bad back)

Dawson is massively overrated and Baker is better IMO.

There is no way that Baker is better than Dawson currently.

@ IrishCockney - are you a Wolves fan trying to pimp moves for Doyle and Stearman? I'd rather we stick with what we've got than waste money on that pair!

To his credit, he gave me a great, big laugh with Stearman. Excellent stuff.
Yeah imagine that...Villa swoop for Wolves trio with Karl Henry!

Signing Dawson would be taking a swipe at the panic button with a lump hammer.
We don't need yet another financial time bomb.

We need players to keep us up. Dawson would be an improvement on the reserve rubbish we've got in our defence at the moment.

Dawson and Doyle would be a start, still need a couple of others as well though.

I think there's a good chance that one of the signings will be Cresswell, which is just about the last kind of player we need to be signing at this point.

Dawson only on a weekly/monthly loan agreement returnable if faulty.

Signing players to keep us up after two games ...have some patients you lot. We need players now to plan for future progress in the Premier League.

Completely disagree.  If he's the only signing we make then you're right but the experienced older head to calm things down is need in midfield not at fullback.  For the fullback workrate, ability and pace are the requirements, and he ticks all those boxes.

After the games against West Ham and Everton do you really think the defence needs sorting out?

Signing players like Dawson is most of the reason we are in this position in the first place.

Midfield is the issue.
