We could ideally do with Dempsey and we should pull out all the stops to make it happen.
He's exactly the sort of player we need. We need some excitement to get some momentum going.

I'd also go after Huddlestone and maybe a potentially magical player from Real or Barca that's on the frniges and needs a loan spell somewhere.
As well as the couple of defenders we need of course.

I was thinking we could do with another Solano type signing, ie somebody who's currently out of favour at their club and needs a way out cheap.  Somebody having the ability and impact of Solano would be good as well.

What about someone like Benayoun? Obviously a short term signing but at least it adds creative quality. Although he's probably on a fair whack but a player like him.

There's a rumour on Twitter that we've agreed a fee for Dawson from Spurs.
That would do nicely.

I would really like Dawson too Maz. Think he and Vlaar would be a very decent pairing, both leaders, both strong and both good players. Stick Guzan in behind them for the ailing Given too. Maybe even move Clark to left back if we can's sign one?

Still would need a solid defensive midfielder, a creative player and a forward though. Spine of the side has improved with Vlaar and KEA, but needs bolstering big time.

Good player on his day, but surely at 32 he's too old now ?

His injury record worries me. Dawson I mean. He hasn't played 30 league games in a season since 05/06.

I hope that rumour re Dawson is anywhere near true, he would improve our defence no end along side Vlaar.
What struck me on Saturday is how Baines had acres of space to just stroll up the pitch look up and pick out his man, he is a fullback primarily there to defend, we badly need a winger to take the game to the opposition and a forward to get on the end of the crosses, Bent can feed of the loose balls created etc.Anybody else think we need to sign a keeper also ?

Possibly, but scored a few for Arsenal last year. But we need that type of player, even if it's only as an impact sub.

We wouldn't pay £9m would we? That's what QPR bid, why not try Baker there?

I thought Baker was really good on Saturday. If Dawson was reasonably priced then maybe, but Spurs will want silly money for him no doubt. We do need another centre half though because i don't think Clark is the right answer there. We should have kept Carlos you know.

Our young players just aren't good enough. This has been proved last season and two games of this season.

Dawson......christ no, the Titanic turns quicker, and we already have Dunne whi is very similar. If we are after a CH, then i would prefer Douglas.

Dos Santos would'nt be the worst gamble on loan.

Doyle, works hard, holds the ball up, never scores, is 28/29.If we are going to buy a forward, then pay a bit more and get Sturridge.

Central midfield.......Capoue has'nt moved yet has he?

£20m, but probably guarantee survival, and 2 good prospects.

Oh and give Bpool anyone from Bannan, Delf, Clark, in exchnge for Ince.
