I would love to watch MON spunk away somebody else's money for a change.
I don't remember anyone complaining at the time though, Damon.

You're right, I didn't complain, because I thought he knew what he was doing. Turns out he didn't.

Perhaps he did, but just didn't care?

I recall plenty of complaining. Let's not pretend he didn't have his doubters at the time.

It was those top 6 finishes that annoyed people, that and the couple of trips to Wembley.

Lambert was my first choice as manager this summer but it would be prudent to at least wait until he's been in charge for a competitive game or two before we can say he's doing a better job than O'Neill.

Or maybe a full season ?

Hindsight is wonderful. If we had choice again, knowing what we know now about MON and the finances against his record and what he did on the pitch...would you have him again?

Me, no. Spent a load of cash, left us in the shit and didn't get into the top 4 (Harry passed him on the way up). Ok, that's in the past - onwards and upwards under Lambo.

I loved MON for the first 2 seasons, then he bored me.

The MON debate has been done to death, so I very much doubt anyone has anything new or insightful to add to it.

Let's move on, shall we?

Changing the subject since it's wasteful bollocks, I'd like to complain about the fees we sell players for. For years I've been thinking we under value players and seem to let them go on the cheap. The latest is James Collins who is believed to be on his way to West Ham for about £2m. Now I understand some on here think he's tripe however, a more objective view would see he's an international with considerable PL experience. I'd say the going rate is about £5m, which is what we paid and we should be looking to get most of that back especially from a team that looks to be pissing cash up the wall. When you consider we're being quoted upwards of £4-5m for unproven, Championship defenders then there's something not quite right.

I think a big factor in Collin' value is the fact he has one year left on his contract.  But you're right - that aside we should be looking for about £5m for him.

Maybe we over valued Collins in the first place?

There's also the fact he has had a poor last two seasons to bear in mind.
