I wonder if Albrighton could also be used as a wide-ish attacking midfielder in a 4-2-3-1 rather than an out-and-out winger. He can isolate himself when completely wide, and maybe if encouraged to play inside more he'll combine better - and maybe score more goals as well.

If, as we expect, the manager changes formation/tactics a lot next season, then he'll need to be able to adapt his game if he wants to play regularly.

What I expect to see is a flat back 4 and two DCMs (based on the signing of El Ahmadi, link to Doumbia & talk of giving Makoun a go), but after that he'll chop and change with the 4 attacking positions.  So we could go with a standard 4-4-2, a 4-4-1-1 (Holman or N'Zog behind Bent), 4-3-3 (Ireland making a more attacking 3rd central midfielder) or 4-2-3-1, which is my personal preference.

We are linked with an up & coming playmaker in the Turkish League, Keyser Soze is his name.

No kidding, my dad used to tell me spook stories at night, 'Rat on me and Keyser Soze will get you son'.

I thought the club had denied interest in Bertrand along with Brahimi? I may be wrong though.

  • Oh.
Sorry might be on the wrong thread but does anyone know for sure what is happening with Makoun. Has he not returned?

Extended leave for personal reasons, someone said at VT. Due back soon, I guess.

Edit: or perhaps it was here!

Just noticed with the squad list on the official site that Holman and Delfouneso both have the No.14 shirt... Is the Fonz off maybe?

I noticed that too, probably just a mistake though. On a different note, when was the last time we had a No.4? Was it Sidwell? And no squad number for J2M? Another mistake?
