I wouldn't actually mind Whitts back. I think he's come of age. I do wonder just why no one's taken him away from Cardiff sooner.
My worry for him is that he's still probably quite light weight for this league. But it would be shame to not give him a punt because he's got such a great left peg. I know people might say about Bannan but for me, Whitts is a better footballer, more consistent, more proven and has a better attitude. He's got a really good touch and can pick a pass. He can also score goals too. To me he'll improve the balance of our midfield. He's flexible and he could replace what we've been missing since Barry left. He's not as good as Barry but he'd offer something nearing that ability. Confidence seemed a problem for Peter when here, though he rarely let us down to be fair. But I think he's matured well and seems to have confidence in his ability.
Agreed. I didn't think he was PL standard when he played for us, but that was 5 years ago, and he's certainly a better player now. In addition to the other qualities you point out, he always seems to have time on the ball, rather like Sid.

I think bringing Whitt could really put some pressure on the academy crop. The kid shoots lasers and is smart on the ball, might be good for us. Already connected to the club, easy transition..

He could give Albrighton a kick up the arse. He's a cracking player who has lost his way a bit. I'd hate to give up on him and someone like PW could help him along.

I thought we'd be looking at the 21=24 bracket as opposed to 27+.
Have we not got an absolute shed-load of players in the 21-24 bracket? We now need a bit of experience to help bring them through.

It's not like we're spending the money on three more Heskeys.

You're right, no doubt. It was just an assumption I made from the (few) official quotes we've had from the club and Lambert's strategy at Norwich.

It's just by the age of 27, 28 you'd have expected them to have made it to a bigger league by now.

Well I don't want to jump the gun but I'm quite pleased with how it seems to be shaping up.

I don't think Albrighton needs a kick up the arse. It's not lack of effort. It's either lack of confidence, or quality, or both

Hopefully it's a lack of confidence and that is all. 2 years ago he looked superb and his deliveries into the box would be something Bent would thrive on. Hopefully a fresh new management and faces will help bring out the best of everyone who is at the club next season.

Maybe, but I have a feeling he's been found out. Hope I'm wrong though. He was excellent for half a season

I could imagine us getting Clyne / Gunter / Naughton and Poulsen / Taylor / Olsson

James Nursey seems to think a fwd and a centre back. I wonder if he'll go for more of a target man or someone who can play wide.

Agree we need a centre back, but with the exception of this Douglas fella, haven't really got a feel for who. Dann looked crap last season for t'Rovers.

Not sure where Nursey stuff comes from, but I reckon a winger and a striker will be on the list. Full backs, centre back, winger, striker. Clyne on one side and Taylor from Swansea on the other would be great, although Olsson is not a bad shout either. Not seen enough of Poulsen to judge I admit. Good attacking full backs have such a huge impact on how well a side attacks it is important to get them working well.

A new manager, a shopping list, a manager we can trust with a shopping list, existing decent players who might become decent again, a transfer thread which might be real, a transfer thread with transfers in the first week, Johnny Foreigners on the list and it's still only June. What a difference a few months make.

a few vague sources on twitter saying we've had a 4m offer for Jonny Howson rejected by Norwich, and that he's now put in a transfer request, dont know how true it is though

Could do worse than the lad Cathcart who is in the GB Olympic squad.

West Ham have bid for Warnock according to a Twitterer. Please God let this one be true.
