If there were a player who hadn't played for us who had scored 50 goals in the Championship from midfield over the last three seasons we would be absolutely thrilled by the idea of him joining us.

He's done very well for himself. Maybe we gave up on him too soon in the first place.

It's Simon, the left back isn't it? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simon_Poulsen

Good. He looks a decent player, whereas Christian Poulsen is more an O Neill type of signing. We do need a new left back. Hope it's true.

Poulsen looked poor for Denmark IMO, but then Rooney looked the worst player ever to play for England and yet will likely bang in 30 goals and look incredible at times for United, so I doubt it is indicative. If he does come that will be Karim, Poulsen, Holman. Rumour was we wanted another from Holland too, so will be interesting to see who is behind door number 4. That other winger that set up Burning Dust looked good.

I only saw Denmark in the first game but thought he was quite good. Saying that, Agger looked a world beater that first match. He'd at least be an attacking fullback, pretty quick. Think he'll be a good signing from what I've seen of him, which is a couple of times for Denmark and for AZ.
Right...Youtube time. Ha ha.

2 frees and a low fee for three players from Holland. Good start, but they're all a bit, well, old aren't they?

I know they're hardly ancient, and all three should be in their prime, but I thought we'd be looking at the 21=24 bracket as opposed to 27+.

Not a complaint. I'm sure they know what they're doing.

Have we not got an absolute shed-load of players in the 21-24 bracket? We now need a bit of experience to help bring them through.

It's not like we're spending the money on three more Heskeys.

I think if you are spending big money on 27 plus, then fair enough to criticise, but relatively little or bosman money, and it is good squad strengthening at good fees.

27 is a decent age. Exprience with three or four years in them and still the chance to sell them on
