I'd rather we got players in first before we bombed anyone out!

We can't take that risk though can we, how can we sign a new defender and potentially have a Hutton/Warnock/Collins/Dunne on £40-60k per week sat on the bench.  We have enough cover in Clark, Baker, Lichaj, Herd, Stephens, Williams, Delph, N'Zogbia even to shift the big money guys and then carefully pick some good replacements to complement what we already have.

We need to give Lichaj a chance as I think he deserves it. Herd can also cover RB.

Priority is a good left back and centre half in my opinion, whilst getting rid of Hutton, Warnock and Collins

It seems a few people can't grasp the fact that Naughton is a full back that plays both sides equally. HE IS NOT A RIGHT BACK BUT A TWO FOOTED FULL BACK.

Who has played most of his career at right-back unless filling in at left-back when needed.

Bearing in mind it's a squad game these days and Lichaj has also played LB, as has Clark, I'd be fairly happy with Naughton in place of Warnock and seeing how we get on next season.

If we imgaine all the gaps, question marks and players we want shot off in the present squad/team, then realistically it'll take more than one window to sort it all out.  So if we have the opportunity to grab an emerging player like Naughton now we should take it!

I don't get the lichaj love in. Did well at the back end of last year in some games, in a battling away kind of way. But I'm really not convinced by him to be honest.

I was quite impressed with Lichaj, would rather he played at RB than Hutton.

Naughton is a good player, quick, good in the tackle and not bad going forward. Would certainly be on my list of wants.

Players like him, Moses, Frimpong, Phillips, Rhodes, the lad at Barnsley that got injured but looked a real talent I have forgotten the name of...., Ince, Clyne are the ones I would love to see us go for. Youth, but have a lot of games under their belt, and have clearly got a lot of quality and will likely only go up in value, so will be assets for the club.

Would agree with that, but we still need a few experienced heads to help the younger players out.  With Stan's unfortunate situation, we have lost that experienced figure in central midfield, so I'd still be looking at bringing a seasoned campaigner in to play in there.

Same here. And he's not exactly a kid anyway, he's about 22 isn't he? top players have been in their teams for 3 or 4 years by this age.

So maybe he's not a top player, but still a very decent one?

I'd go for Taiwo as LB.

For me the priority now is to get rid of Warnock/Dunne and Collins.Regardless of their ability their attitude is partly to blame for the clubs position now.If you are going to play Clark and Baker more next season, then Naughton might be a bit too inexperienced.Sign Douglas, play Eric or Herd at RB, sign Capoue to play alongside Makoun.Sign Jarvis and Moses.......sorted.

One thing about him is that he always gives it everything he has when he plays.  Time will tell with Lichaj and our other younger players I suppose, but I'm not sure about him when he has the ball.  Would still like to see us sign attacking full-backs like Naughton, Izaguirre or maybe even someone like Bertrand on a season loan from Chelsea.

Re the Barnsley player - Jacob Butterfield I think?
