Would be happy with him. Shame it looks like we won't be able to get shot of Given...

Im hearing from someone who works at the club that we may soon make an approach for victor moses at wigan .
Cracking player, he was great at Palace.
Hope this is true.
lets hope he is as good a signing as N'Zog???

Zog will be a whole lot better under Lambert.

Messi would have been crap playing for McCatpiss.

agree entirely. There are some players I'd dicth because they've had numerous chances and they've disgraced us off the pitch also. Then there are players that will naturally improve and raise their game under a change of philosophy and environment. N'Zogbia is one of those moody, sensitive bastards that needs to be managed carefully. On song he's deadly and I think we'll see a different player next season under Lambert. Something that applies for a few others too.

Of course cb, of course. What the heck to we need a world class 'keeper for anyway? Not like he helped keep us in the Premiership or anything.  Get rid!!!!

Holman is still coming, right? He seems to have been forgotten about.
And I wonder if Makoun will get a reprieve under Lambert.

Whittingham has more end product than Barry Bannan.
Spot on. I think whitts has much more about his game than BB (at present)

When i've seen him in the Championship he does stand out,but its not guaranteed that he'd be a success in the PL. I'd much rather see if Lambert can get more out of Albrighton, and see Carruthers get more time on the pitch.

Looks as if he might have got here already!

Paulie, I understand you are moderator here and what you say goes, but what warning? I don't recall receiving it.

I realize that I may not be that popular amongst a select few round here, but that's the price you pay for going against the views of what I frankly view to be a deluded nation, of which I am embarrassed to say I am a member. I have not insulted anyone personally although there have been some heated debates. In particular last night it was noted by an independent observer that an esteemed member of these boards was quite rude to me. I don't mind that at all but such individuals should expect to be responded to in kind, and I think I did so within reasonable bounds, certainly I was no more brusque with him than he was with me, and I made sure to end it before it got out of hand.

Regarding the comment on this thread, I was simply responding to that of James, who claimed that the Given move was off with Rob Green going to QPR. In light of the conversation last night (of which I should point out I was not the only one of the view that we should sell Given), I thought it was a fair enough comment, as I believe it to be in the financial and footballing interests of our great club. So it would seem that Dave Woodhall has been proven correct on this in that it does not appear to be simple to remove Given from our wage bill. However the discussion took place after the QPR rumour had appeared, and on the basis of this evidence (or at least what passes as such on this thread) it looked like it was at least feasible. Certainly it would seem to be a reasonable thing to discuss on a topic entitled "Speculation, Lies, Absolute Cr*p and Bosman Rumours", and the views I expressed were if anything only supporting the arguments of others.

This brings us to the issue of Ireland. I make no apology for my stance on this. I have not said anything worse about them than has been said on here many times about Blues and I'm absolutely entitled to my opinion. However, I do recognize that my views on this subject seem to upset certain members of these boards, so I can understand your concern. As a result, I will pledge not to type a single further word about them for the remainder of Euro 2012 in its entirety. I think everyone understands where I'm coming from on this - so will agree not to comment...

Ah, the old premium tv web site player ID trick. That's a classic.

The player ID is drawn from a database of all players at clubs with premium tv developed web sites. You can basically pull any player at any of those clubs into the web site of the club you follow by tinkering with the url.

Huh? Hyperbole much?

Given is a perfectly solid keeper and probably better than we deserved last year. But even by the very loosest definition of what is a very subjective term, nobody could realistically describe Given as 'world-class'.

He'd probably feature if you were making a list of the best fifteen/twenty keepers in the world. Which is still very impressive and means he should probably be at a better club than Villa, but even so...

Wouldn't being one of the top fifteen keepers in the world make you pretty much world class, anyway?
