I think Hutton will prove to be a slow burner and turn into a tidy little player, once the rest of the defence is sorted out.

Players like this Elm seem the way for us to go.

You may be right John,I'd flog him though and see if Lichaj or Herd can develope into a decent rb,and offer King Carlos a new contract.

And if they don't?  As Dante says, he starting to look a bit steadier and although happy with Lichaj as back up and keeping Carlos, I'd like to see how Hutton develops next season.

Herd will be needed in midfield.

I have never seen this Swedish cream play, but it is amazing how quickly when some are mentioned they are the best young player in the world.

I would like Matt Phillips from Blackpool if they don't come up to give us a pacey option from the bench.

We should sign him purely for when he's having an off day, think of the fun we could have with the nightmare on Elm street headlines.

If they fulfilled their potential (huge if) then Clark and Herd would be an ideal base for our midfield.  On different occasions, but never consistently, they've shown to have the perfect qualities:

Herd has a terrier like enthusiasm and enjoys getting stuck in whereas Clark is tall, comfortable receiving the ball from the defence and has an ability to pass the ball forward.

Probably too early for them at the moment but if we scraped some points in the near future it'd ge great to give them some games together near the end of the season.

I think Elm was one of the stars of the U21 tournament a few years ago so you might have seen him at that.

We were linked with him then too weren't we? Then Saint Martin realised he didn't play in the Premier League and took it no further.

He was told that he played in the Netherlands, after standing there for a few minutes scratching his head and looking bewildered he then enquired wether we could make it a double deal along with Peter Pan.

It would'nt surprise me if Herd ends up as a CH.

Quick, versatile, good in the air, not bad on the floor. The days of big CF have gone generally, would'nt surprise me if we start getting smaller CHs, after all look at Barca.

And one of Barca's poor points is there defense (not that its poor.. its just not as good). I think you still need a big stopper and a more versatile guy. But I agree that both of these positions need to be better with the ball than they needed to be  a few years ago.

SQUEAL.

I've changed my mind about not renewing, I'm getting straight onto the ticket office now.

Daily Mail were saying it last week.

Extra point for anybody who can name the scout who has recommended him to be signed.

In fairness he's a very good player if fit. However to counter that he's probably a bit attacking for Mcleish.
