He must have been a wind-up merchant. He sounded like a village idiot and suggested (for baggies) Milner, Cahill and the pièce de résistance - Ricky Lambert.

From tonight's opening.

"Wolves say Costa isn't for sale...what if a Premier League club comes in for Kodjia, as they're bound to..."

And off.

Strange, because the other Saturday Franksie was saying Costa was definitely going to be off. He's not even consistent in the cobblers he comes out with.

not sure if i heard it correctly on saturday but daz hale was covering for franksy and somehow managed to announce a goal   at the hawthornes even though it was still3 mins before half time was over, he  then played the first half goal highlight again as if it was a second half goal  , before realising his mistake and apologising saying someone had given him the wrong information!

I heard that he was waiting forlornly for the goal horn that never came.

Awesome bit of fishing by Leighton on tonight's show.  Bagged a few one eyed Sandwell snappers for his troubles.

As I was talking I was just picturing them all having palpitations and  fits of rage. Great sport.

"on the evidence of what you have seen today, can Villa go up next season?".

As brainless statements go, the above from Franks really takes the biscuit. The after match coverage was so doom laden one would've thought that yesterday was our only chance to achieve anything for the next 100 years. There will be no transfers, no close season, no potential change in style or management, no other games, yesterday was it.

The callers weren't much better.

Yeah I picked up on that too. Much water will pass under the bridge between now and August.

We have a strong squad that will be even stronger, while the manager will have a pre season and chance to perfect a system of his choice.

I really don't get comments like "we're not good enough for the Premier League". Well obviously not, nobody in this division is, that's why promoted clubs will strengthen.

The amount of morons who drone on about that as if it's a valid criticism does my swede in.

I still think we'll go up next season and I don't think Reading were much better than us yesterday. The trouble with WM is that they never look at the bigger picture and can't see further than the end of their noses. Actually I'm sure they can but they'd rather go down the route of winding up fans so they get more phone calls. Best to ignore them, and when in 12 months time we return to the big time watch them grovel to anything claret and blue.

That's it for me too SH: God willing, when we do return to the top flight, organisations like WM and the Mail can do one. After years of sticking the knife in I don't want anything to do wth them. We genuinely could have done with their support when times were worse, all they did was ridicule us and seem to have just continued on with that.

I only ever listen to it for commentary on our game a few times a year, but I wonder how much stick they're giving to Pulis and the bitters over scoring in only 1 of their last 7 league games.
