The Sandwell prat that was on last night was a diamond.

He'd gone to the time and trouble to work out the percentage occupancy against capacity of the grounds for the last home games involving Villa, Wolves and Sandwell following accusations of poor attendances at Birmingham Road. It was magically flawed but he sounded chuffed to bits having proved, in his own mind, that Sandwell am the best with the most fans. Me mon.

I find myself tuning in a bit more often now to find gold like this.

Yes, this made me chuckle as well.  I regularly try to tell myself they're not as obsessed as the noses (and in fairness they have won a few things over the years), but when I hear people like this, I have to think they're just as bad.

I had a Dingle explaining why they had a better support ratio/city population - it ended when I asked why they had won f***-all then. These people seem to live in an age when distances were measured in how far a man could walk safely in daylight (which is not far round Molineux)

Had to wince when one of our tribe came on last night and gave twelve players when asked for the line up he would play!!

The worst Villa fan that rings up is Alan. He's an utter embarrassment with some of the crap he comes out with sometimes.

I've given it a miss this week. The thought of 'Franksey' crawling up Sandwell's arse after their 4-2 win sounded too unbearable.

I do wonder if we could invent some characters to ring up to liven up the show. Anyone any good at amateur dramatics.

I'll see your Alan and raise you with either Si (play Baker in midfield, bring back Gabby) or Jason the sycophantic taxi driver (both cringeworthy).

So bad it's quite good (sometimes. Alright it's not)

This was a game we use to play when on nightshifts at ASDA as lads in the late 70's when BRMB (Ithink) had a quiz show - we won fooking everything they had to offer as we were the only sober people in the W Midlands at 1:30AM. We had to give false names and get family members to collect the gear.

What would your alter ego be?

How about the classics: Wayne Kerr, Mike Hunt or plain old Neal Anderthaul.

Oh yes, I remember Tom Ross being taken in by some racist twat phoning in regularly and seemingly being taken in by the false 'Indian accent' and thinking it was a real bloke.

Is it racist to ape accents? Or say "Drake's Drum" in English affected sub-continent drawl?

Ashok's jokes were so awful I found myself laughing at them.  'Tom, I went to the Doctor last week, told him I keep wanting to sing Tom Jones songs.'  Doctor told me 'It's not unusual.'

That's a shame.
Serious question. Who was "Ashok" then? I remember thinking this is a wind up. But Tom Ross never seemed to suss it.

I think Ross knew it was a wind up. I worked with a bloke who knew him, his name was "beebo" or some such and he drank in the Drum.
