Only 36 when he died too.
That's a shame.
Serious question. Who was "Ashok" then? I remember thinking this is a wind up. But Tom Ross never seemed to suss it.

I think Ross knew it was a wind up. I worked with a bloke who knew him, his name was "beebo" or some such and he drank in the Drum.

In the early 80s i knew a lad by the same name round there - always thought it was Bibbo - and he was frequently nicked for fighting.

Some top class bellends on already tonight

One bloke wants to start with Ayew and Gestede up front with Kodjia on the wing (reason being Ayew was crap last season but has been great this) he was then asked why his midfield wouldn't include Adomah he replied 'he's gone to Boro'

Another, suggested we play a 4-3-4

Good times  :o

It's a shame Ashok is no longer around

Wasn't there a regular called "Oscar" from Chelmsley Wood I think who was a regular caller to "TONE" in the mid to late 1970s ?

And of course, the legendary Acker.

I met him at Wembley in'96 and was chuffed to bits, never mind the players and managers over the years, nothing says Villa more to me than someone like Acker.

Christ he must have been in his 80s at least at the League Cup final. Living in Spain wasn't he?

Home on the train and put my radio on when I got close to Brum. Forgot the Wolves game was on. Break in play due to an injury and you know who couldn't wait to start his Villa goading.

The one thing I will say is that supporters of the other clubs think that WM are biased towards us.  Quite how they work that out is anyone's guess.

I just wish we could actually win some games to shut them up for a bit but we just keep on giving call me never ending ammunition.
