When I was growing up WM used to just have a phone in on a Friday night and then obviously after the games on a Saturday and Sunday.

Problem was them changing to every night a few years back. I don't listen but what on earth do they talk about other than these inane player comparisions Frawnksy likes to do?

What do they do when there's an international break on? I can understand national radio but just dosen't work on local radio.

My daughter worked in our bbc local radio and said they usually put the fruit loops on air. Apparently the production staff are laughing themselves silly as they put the callers thru to the presenter.

I can assure you when I worked there many moons ago, Doolan, Wilkes, Taynton and the odd others I worked for, would have slaughtered you if you put any caller through, who couldn't make a decent point, couldn't speak clearly, and could put a couple of sentences together. there was also a "hit" list of callers NOT to put on air, and if you failed you were put on the retrieving guests and making coffee duty. Trust me if the guest was Dennis Howell, you grovelled to get back to picking up the phones.

The main FA Cup Final item on tonight's Midlands Today is going to be an interview with that Villa legend Tony Pulis.

You should run a sweepstake on how long it takes him to bitch about

1. Ideye missing that chance.
2. People on the pitch because they think it's all over.
3. How they'd stand a much better chance against Arsenal (10 players behind the ball and Jonny Wilkinson II to hoof the ball at Ideye or Berahino.

Judging by the clip they played on the programme last night he was saying Albion fans will be wanting Arsenal to win. Which is true, but not fantastically supportive of our local TV station. When Coventry and Stoke were in FA Cup Finals I don't remember the Villa Manager appearing on screen saying that all Villa fans would be cheering for Spurs/Man City.

That would be because we are not pathetic and willing to go on Tv purely to state how much we hate someone. If Albion were a bloke he'd be bald with a tiny dick and an old bag, mouthy, missus from somewhere like Stoke.

Well their manager fits at least part of that description. I'll refrain from speculating about the rest..........

Interesting  BBC use of Villa fans on the pitch v WBA to illustrate the passion of the cup.

You're surely not suggesting that they're a bunch of hypocritical wbankers that will do anything to add another couple to the viewing figures on Saturday?

it truly is the height of inferiority and insecurity if you indirectly say you want a team to win that you have no connection to, and managed by a bloke who hates you just to win points with your own fans.

The people who phone up all sound so bloody depressed.

Cracking stuff from Franksy tonight:

"Joining us now from New York, Duran Duran's Roger Taylor......"

"Err hi....I'm actually in The Midlands, getting ready to travel down to Wembley"

"Oh..err..OK...well John, what do you reckon for tomorrow?"

"My name is Roger"
