On the basis that IMO AM is incapable of really stirring the players into anything like a good, winning performance at home, I think this will be another home defeat - 5th on the trot and 6 out of 7.

Once we get into a relegation battle, AM has the track record to take us down - it's his strength.

That is scarey, if we are in a relegation battle he has proven twice he cannot get out of it.

But that was at the Sty, I don't take a massive amount of notice of that myself.

Villa win here.

Everton have been very abject of late. Even their win against the Albion was mind numbing

If Bent doesn't start we will win.

Amazing how you'll take Ireland who, over the vast majority of games for Villa, has generally been a lazy fucker who's contribution amounts to very little, over Bent.

A couple of ok games and you have him over Bent, who has contributed more through scoring goals.

Just in case you weren't sure, scoring goals is the idea of football. You have to score more than the other team if you want to win. It's not about a player having 3 or 4 good games in 2 seasons.

It's amazing how you think the sun shines out of Bents arse based on last seasons form, yet you dismiss Ireland on last seasons form???

Ireland has looked quality, hungry and committed in the last few weeks the complete opposite to Bent.

So based on recent form and not last season, yes, I pick Ireland over Bent.

Ow and Ireland has as many goals as Bent since Bent came back from injury.

Ireland's form last season? What was that like, then? Do you mean when he was throwing strops and refusing to move house here, or when he was out clubbing and being ill at Newcastle?

And Ireland's got as many goals as Bent since Bent came back from injury? All of a few weeks ago. One swallow does not make a spring, especially not in the case of Ireland.

Paulie, you know exactly what I mean, I was responding to criticism of Ireland.

Shall I change my mind so I fall in line with everybody else?

By saying look at Ireland's form last season? What of it? That's the bit I don't understand.

I don't want you to change your mind, your opinion is as valid as anyone else's, but if you're going to bang on about Bent every day, don't be surprised if people argue with you!

My left foot,

My feeling was that herd on the right and clark on the left would look pretty conservative, and more of a 5 3 2.

I think you're right that we should be looking at ways to be more creative through the middle, though. Maybe that's what AM has in mind bringing keane in...

A comment was made about how Ireland has contributed nothing in his career at Villa and that Bent had saved us from relegation last season.

Last season Bent was quality for Villa and Ireland was a waste of space, but that is not the case now. I was being critisied for picking Ireland, because he has been shit up until recently.

My point was what happened last season is in the past and we should be picking players in form which for me means Ireland behind Gabby with the 2 wingers.

Team line up will be interesting...if Keane starts then I really can't see a place for Ireland in the team which would be a kick in the teeth for him when he's just started getting some momentum for us.

I think Everton's main tactic will be to play Royston Drenthe on the right and just tell him to run at Warnock at every opportunity.

Have a bad feeling Tim Cahill will score aswell, think it's something ridiculous like he hasn't scored in the prem for over a year. We gifted Routledge his first ever prem goal last time out.

I want to see him do his acrobatics in front of the Holte, something to cheer a so far, poor season up.

I think he'll be on the bench and may play in the final 20, but then he may start, stranger things have happened, Heskey has started a fair few games.

I think this has the makings of a really good battle and a real benchmark in terms of how we are doing, are we going in the right direction is AM improving the side.

We know Everton, they know us, this is all about football and we should take the points without any excuses.

1-0 Villa with Keane coming on in the 68th minute and scoring a "Henry" type finish. When he celebrates his double cartwheel, he lands on Doug Ellis`s lap and just says to him "£50,000 that`s all it would of taken" :-)))

Except it was John Gregory who wouldn't stump up the extra cash.
