Just heard that the red card he issued to Conor Sammon has been rescinded. That means his last two red cards (Herd) have been over turned.
This coupled with his general incompetence should make him unfit to referee at this level but will the FA take any action?

i despise that prick. he was truly shit against bolton as well a couple of weeks ago.  he will be welcomed at old trafford for the next few years but he will never be welcomed at Villa Park!

He also gave a pen in the game whcih was outside the box. Amazinf how Man Utd needed to up their goald difference and up steps Phil Down as ref for a home game aainst Wigan!!

Hes a disgrace and makes life difficult for the good refs as they get tarnished witht he same brush as this twat when they make a genuine mistake. Anyone see the howler from Webb in the Mackems v Everton game? Clueless!

Best ref is the young guy - not Atwell - but the ref we had against QPR. Has a really strong backbone and does not get swayed by personalities or crowds.

As for Dowd, well I can't say what I really think about him. I doubt he will need to worry about money when he retires.
