Oh dear.  Liverpool really, REALLY are the most deluded club in the land.  Massive club?  Not anymore mate.

As for Downing, seems he's lost the consistent 7/10 form that earned him his 'dream move'.   Shame.

I'd concede that they're a bigger club.

How? Other than a trophy winning blitz in the 80's what have they done?

Ku Klux Kenny is and always was a c**t.

Can't disagree, he's a particularly dreadful man.

one of the best players i ever seen at VP though,
when he had the ball in your half your heart was in your mouth.

he's yesterdays man now though, if you ever listen to his interviews he's always harking back, i suppose thats what Liverpool fans want, someone who can remember the past

I trust you are a bit tongue in cheek there.  Other than a trophy winning blitz in the 1890's what have we done?

Heard a Liverpool fan on 6-0-6 complaining about Carroll and Downing. Schadenfreude's not nice, but sometimes what the heck.

I like the KKK tag for King Kenny of the Kop bearing in mind Liverpool's racist tendencies.

Won the league in a few other decades? Won a few European Cups?

Lets not start letting anger about Downing get in the way of logic - Liverpool are a huge club, one of the biggest two in the country and (living abroad) one of the ones that everyone always asks about.

Ok they're having a PR disaster at the moment but its a football city with a lot of great fans - we shouldn't forget that either.

Not that Downing has contributed to anything positive there, or is anything other than a weasly little Robert Ford lookalike..

What a mess £35mil for Caroll and £18mil for Downing and the Suarez affair, they are so so desperate to be condidered a great club again but lets face it they are miles off, my dislike of the Club goes back to the sheer arrogance of thier fans  in the 80s . great to see them getting beat by Bolton.

He's just making excuses for him to cover his own back as he's the man who shelled out £20m for him.

Yup

I looked at RAWK the other day as I was interested to see what they thought of Downing, and was surprised to see the first signs of them getting uncomfortable about Dalglish

Carroll 35m
Adam 9m
Henderson 20m
Downing 20m

That's nigh on £85m spent there. I struggle to think of a worse way to spend that kind of money.

Great isn't it? Won't it be interesting to see how their world is when their Americans austerity measures kick in.

As for Downing, it couldn't have worked out too much bettter thus far could it?

I'm still trying to work out why it matters that he is quicker then the overrated high pitched squeaking thug Carragher thought. Unless he is pointing out that he skins Jaimie in training, ( or he bottles out of the challenge with him even before the lumbering oaf has committed it).

But the line when he mentions he "puts in more crosses then anyone else, but his job is to put them into goal scoring areas" does sound like quite a big criticism from KKK.

The trophy winning blitz in the 70s?

The trophy winning blitz in the 70s?

The one in the sixties? Or in the 2000s?

Downing had a very good season for us last season we tend to forget. His replacement Nzogbia has been muck for us so far really. One assist, no goal. One assist more than Downing but dont think its worked out all that well for us. As a team, we are certainly weakened by his departure.

The balance of 10m has gone back to RAL. I dont think its worked out that well for us at all.
