Perhaps the only player I would be happy to see get a career ending injury. Fuck off

Liked him as a player for us, but they way he left I hope he has some un-fortunate mis-hap.

Downing was quality all season fro us last year.

He did well until Christmas (5 goals in 17 games up til that point) then did fuck all after Christmas.  Half a decent season for someone who cost us £12m was pathetic.  I'm just delighted Kenny came-a-calling with his comedy cheque book because £20m was an absolute steal for us!

I take the opposite view to most, players are not fans or supporters they're in the game to make as much money as they can and play for the best club they can. Downing is on more money at Liverpool and they are (and i choke when i say this) a bigger club. Just like Ash Young Downing will not be at his chosen club for long, they are now little fish in a big pond and will be found wanting.

I can't help thinking that Dalglish only signed him because he had no chance of getting Ash.

Downing right from the outset bothered me, decent player, but his opening line when he joined Villa was all about Boro, how he loved them, how he would badly miss playing for them and how he would dearly love to return there and play for them again one day.

Which is what Ian Taylor would've said too if we sold him at his peak.

Even for him that is abit much, especially with his such good form and love in from his current fans. I want him to be playing as much as possible.

Yes but we didn't, he didn't but Downing did, and the other point is would we have sold Taylor in his prime and would Taylor have gone, that's the simple answer.

Some people are pathetic.

I wouldn't say pathetic, just a bit crap and light in the tackle.
