Carole King recorded it and wrote it with Jerry Goffin.
Dusty's version was superb.
Nils Lofgren did a good version on his 1975 self-titled and wonderful album.
Many have tried to sing the song but failed.

Yes, he shouldn't have done it but it is better than what Hoddle and Waddle, Kevin Keegan and Gazza did.  Can't remember any other fotballers who released a single.  It would have been better received without the video I think.

Maybe nearer the time I'll start a Facebook campaign similar to the one that was done, was it year before last?
Considering the low sales you need nowadays to get to number one. Between Villa, Man Ure and Republic fans we could get it to number one for Christmas.
