Both Bannan and O'Hare were class for us at the junior level and have gone on to make good careers for themselves. I would love to have seen them given more time here, but others obviously thought differently.
I always saw O'Hare as the potential Jack replacement...

There's also the apocryphal story about the time Bannan scored a hat-trick against Man Utd in the U21s, and Ferguson immediately tried to buy him as a result.  The hat-trick bit is definitely true, not sure about the Ferguson element...

Barry had 60-odd appearances for us, it's not like he didn't get his chance in our first team.  It does seem like he had a few off-the-field issues as a younger player, however, which probably hindered his progress with us.  That said, he obviously corrected them, as you don't play in midfield in the Championship at 36 unless you've looked after yourself.

Snap…they used to go up against the likes of Chelsea with a team of 7/8 6ft+ athletes and pass it round them….used to love those games

Was also at Burton for the friendly after his driving ban for the M1 abandonment where he was warming up & James Collins was laughing & conducting the travelling fans in ‘he drives to the left, he drives to the right…Barry Bannan…his driving is shite’
