On a bored Wikipedia trawl, Janoi Donacien who was one of that "might be our next central defensive colossus when Zat Knight packs it in" crowd of a decade ago is now 30, and a part of the surprisingly impressive Ipswich squad doing well in the Championship.

Is that our former player Brad Young playing for New Saints in the Welsh Premiership?
Doing well if it is.
It is. I’m surprised he couldn't find a club at a higher level though.

Me, too. Always looked decent when I saw him.
Just read that he’s only 5’9”, so maybe he just struggled to make the step up physically?

Would have had a great career at a higher level back in the 80s and 90s as part of a big man little man combo 4-4-2 meat and potatoes English style set up.

2½ years since scoring what proved to be the winner in the Youth Cup Final. Youth football's harsh.

He as quick and a decent finisher but his all round game wasn't good enough and that's shown by how far down he's had to go to get game time. I suspect he'll come back up though, if he wants it, I can see him in league 2 in a couple of years and ending up with a fairly decent lower league career.

IIRC he didn’t impress at Ayr either.

It's a shit business.

I noticed that back at the start of the season, was watching some EFL highlights and the name rang a bell.

Cory Blacket-Taylor is another who seems to be carving out a living in the lower leagues.  Currently at Charlton.

Disappointing, but they're known for being straight talkers at Ayr.

Thought I'd throw this one in here even though he's no longer playing, I heard today from a Swedish client that Olaf Melberg looks likely to take the job as Sweden's national team manager.

Not the first time we've seen it on here but it's Olof. Obviously it's all Aftab's fault rather than yours. ;)

The shame. And my bloody client is also an Olof. Fortunately it's his middle name.

90 minutes for Axel Tuanzebe as Ipswich win again and go top of the Championship.
