Agree.
Some of his passing was sublime.
I remember the media fawning over a Charlie Adam pass. Yes it was a good long pass into space and the winger ran on to it. The pundits were w**king themselves over it. The winger made it look better, if I’m being picky.
The week after Bannan hit a longer pass, almost identical scenario, his wasn’t into space, though, he’d seen Albrighton make the run, he put the pass where Albrighton didn’t even break stride. Wasn’t even mentioned.

But, yes, unfortunately he was the lightweight in a lightweight midfield. I’d have loved to have seen him in a proper midfield with some big chap protecting him.

Away at Fulham, wasn't that..? I was there and thought to myself "there's Villa's bright future combining"...

The Blackpool night match that we only ust about won under Houlier, me & Oercy were sitting there watching Bannan, Albrighton and Gabby combining superbly and thinking how bright things looked.

It wasn't a tackle by Ben Mee, was it?
Seriously, I never disliked Westwood and hope he recovers fully.

Always liked Joe, lot of skill and a very good crosser of the ball, but he was never ready for the Prem.
He was one who could have a couple of seasons as a squad player.

Joe Bennett on the left, James Bree on the right. A more honest couple of fullbacks you couldn't hope to have.
