Callum O’Hare has scored 2 for Coventry today.

And set another up. Always had talent, but we couldn't offer him first team football

I thought he'd have pushed on a bit by now.  Clearly he had a lot of ability on the ball, and I thought a year or two at Coventry would be enough for him to potentially move up a level.  Not happened yet, maybe it never will. It might be his lack of goalscoring that holds him back (the most recent game very much being an exception). He's always had the creativity required to play at a higher level.  He's the 5th in the 'chances created' stats in the Championship this season.  Not bad for a team in 10th place.

While we're on ex-Villa players, the player who has created the 8th most chances in the Championship this season? James Bree.  He's the highest placed defender in the list.

Where's he at, Luton? They seem to be the most over-achieving club in the land. Hats off to the Hatters.

Pinged in a free-kick from 25 yards today to help Luton move up to third in the Championship.

Nathan Jones is doing a pretty astonishing job there.

Luton and Forest are the two form teams in the Championship right now, Luton are 3rd, and Forest are in the play-off places if they win their game in hand.  I'd put money on one of them winning the play-offs if they both get there.  I could see Forest's late-season form doing for them what we did in 2019, coming from almost nowhere in the last three months of the season.

Barry Bannan scored a worldie for Wednesday this evening.

I'm amazed he's still playing - he must be about 50 by now!

I always rated Bannan.
He was a great passer of the ball.
Unfortunately he lost his way a touch.

Has he been attempting to drive his car again?

He had great potential at a time when our midfield needed dome physicality: he couldn't offer that.

One of Bannan's problems were that he was only really managed by McLeish and Lambert - two negative managers who wouldn't really give a midfielder like Bannan any freedom.

Agree.
Some of his passing was sublime.
I remember the media fawning over a Charlie Adam pass. Yes it was a good long pass into space and the winger ran on to it. The pundits were w**king themselves over it. The winger made it look better, if I’m being picky.
The week after Bannan hit a longer pass, almost identical scenario, his wasn’t into space, though, he’d seen Albrighton make the run, he put the pass where Albrighton didn’t even break stride. Wasn’t even mentioned.

But, yes, unfortunately he was the lightweight in a lightweight midfield. I’d have loved to have seen him in a proper midfield with some big chap protecting him.

Ashley Westwood's had a horror injury today. Looks like he's broken his leg pretty badly.

For a 32 year old that could be a career ender.
