In this instance, I'm happy for him to be described as ex-Manchester United.

Former Aston Villa and Roms pair linked with US moves

By Sutton Coldfield Observer  |  Posted: February 09, 2014

Former Romulus and Aston Villa defender Zat Knight could be heading for the United States.

Bolton Wanderers star Knight, from Erdington, has reportedly emerged as a target for MLS side Philadelphia Union, just weeks before the start of the American season.

Despite the British transfer window ending on January 31, clubs from the US can strengthen before the new campaign begins on March 8 - with outgoing deals from Britain still allowed.

Knight's contract at the Reebok Stadium comes to an end in June and he could be set to move.

Last week, another ex-Villa and Romulus player, Luke Moore, was linked with a move to the US.

MLS sides Los Angeles Galaxy and Chicago Fire have expressed an interest in the striker, who has been with Turkish club Elazigspor.

Not a 'player still playing', but a 'player now coaching'. Spotted Mark Lillis in the local paper (Huddersfield) - he's youth coach at Town. They're doing well - drawn to play Man Utd in the 5th round of the FA Youth Cup. Beat the baggies in the last round.

You sure he's coaching and not just employed to keep the kids away from the fireplace?

Very Good Lee.

The link below illustrates how handsome he still is. And, slight mistake from me, he's not actually coach but academy manager. Not that it makes much difference.

Hahaha!  Thanks for that Lee and Pete, you've just sent beer through my nostrils.  Poor old Mark Lillis.  Bless him.  Can't remember him doing anything of note in a Villa shirt, but he looks like a nice bloke.

Everyone's favourite Aston Villa goalkeeper Peter Enckelman is back in finnish league, after 13-14 years abroad.

How old is Knight?  I am guessing early 30's. Surely he can still be a decent Championship player at least.

He is but the lure of the US must be big when compared to another year plodding around the lower regions of the Championship at a half-empty Macron Stadium (née Reebok).

Back to base Agent Ridgewell, mission not quite accomplished but a good effort.

Agent Ridgewell, your mission should you choose to accept it, is to take the Blose down to League 1 next season. This message will giggle impishly in five seconds.
