I believe all the London home games will be called off the Police cannot Police these events as they will be a drain on their resouces in such a bad time. Even the England match has been called off now.

i think you will be correct in that assumption-far more important to get things under control than police football matches .

It's not so much police numbers as tomorrow and Wednesday would see large numbers of people leaving grounds in the dark at peak riot time. Saturday afternoon will be a different scenario.

yesterday morning id have agreed but the rioting in london yesterday began early afternoon and fires were raging in broad daylight well before 3pm.

I hope there's no knee jerk reaction of a decision made today or tomorrow. They can wait til at least Thursday before deciding whether to postpone Saturday's games, by which time HOPEFULLY things will have calmed down.

Think it would be giving the looters/protesters a licence to carry on when thousands of people are gathering together and cannot see any games in London or any major cities to be on this weekend ..............

Playing the games should keep the looters off the streets. They will all be at either St Andrews or Ehite Hart Lane..

SSN just said there's four games that could be cancelled this weekend, ours was one of them.

Premier League & Football League Statement
Tuesday 9th August 2011

The Premier League and Football League are saddened by the recent incidents of civil unrest and the effect it is having on local communities.

We are in on-going discussions with our London-based clubs, the relevant police forces and statutory authorities, in regard to the staging of the coming weekend’s fixtures in the capital.

The Metropolitan Police has conveyed to us the dynamic nature of the current situation and with that in mind all parties will review the situation on Thursday and make a further public statement.

With the information currently available there is no reason to think any matches outside of London will be affected.

We are conscious of the need to keep fans informed of any developments and will, of course, keep them as up-to-date as possible through club, league and media channels.

I think it'll be off, but will be very surprised if they cancel games in London but nowhere else, Birmingham/Manchester riots have been just as bad.

You can. I got my money back last year when Wigan was snowed off as I couldn't travel back up there for a midweek game.

And if you were due to travel by the official coaches you'll get that refunded too.
