Totally agree alexpayne, tonight also for the 1st time in my life I am embarrassed and ashamed to be a fan of Aston villa , and it is nothing to do with randy or mcleish that makes me feel this way, it's the shameful and disgusting scenes at villa park from so called fans.

Totally agree.

It is ok to be ashamed of certain players, Ireland, Dunney at times last season, Warnock, Alpay, Hodge.
Or ashamed of the actions of a manager DOL and the remarks he made. Sometimes a section of the fans might embarrass you but never ever feel ashamed of supporting Aston Villa.

Still the pride of Birmingham.

Should've gone for McClaren.

A mate of mine went and he's said it was fairly good natured and a decent turn out.

Fans are just disapointed at the quality of manager we've approached, first Martinez and now Mccleish, who's taken the same club down twice. It's not very ambitious and it just sends out negative signals to fans.

Let's put it this way, if all of us on here had written a list of 10 managers who they thought would have been good appointments, i doubt McCleish would have been on many of them.

I'm proud to be a Villa fan. I'm just not very proud of the actions of a small minority.
That's pretty much how I feel better worded! Cheers leej

All at pains to say it wasn NOT just about the fact McLeish was coming from Blues. It was that they felt he wasn't good enough for #AVFC

Home from the protest now..Every #AVFC fan I spoke to tonight was fiercely passionate about their club and spoke well on the matter.

Surely not. They're all embarrasing tossers aren't they.

A few thousand there it seems.

Tbh, everyone is entitled to free speech, where they stepped over the line is when they quite litterally stepped over the line and went thru the gates. Do your protest, just don't invade the stadium when they locked the gates.

Piss off. To all those protesting, you are an embarrasment. It won't make me popular but tough shit. Spoiled bastards making us look like Newcastle. Brought on themselves by a board that have been too open and pandered to fans wishes too much I admit, but stupid nonetheless.

Sorry brah, but Martinez would get a MUCH BETTER reception.

It was almost split 50/50 on people wanting Martinez or not. Yea, one or two know it all might have said "he's not good enough for Villa blah blah blah" but not one protester would turn up.

If we had the oppotinity NOW to have Martinez instead of McLeish they'd snap at the oppotunity of having Martinez, even the ones who didn't want Martinez would want him.

I was telling people on here be careful what you wish ofr when some were turning their noses up at Roberto, well tough shit, you've ended up with McCock.

We are Aston Villa, why should we be choosing between managers who finished fourth and third from bottom.

Yea, that's why they just wrap chains around the gates putting a lock on it... I guess they just did it for the cameras.
