Blues PR manager, says that we have NOT made an approach for McLeish

Not quite true.  He pointedly says.... no 'official' approach.

The most damning thing about this whole saga is that the 'Noses don't seem bothered about the loosing the manager that won them their first major trophy.

Says it all really.

exactly .. loads are happy hes gone

To be fair, they'd say that to a man if they thought he was leaving to join us.

My objection to McLeish has nothing to do with where he was managing last year. Had he relegated Wigan or Bolton twice in 4 years, I'd be against him as manager just as much. He's had sufficient resources to have at least kept them in the PL on both occasions. The fact that he hasn't reveals all we need to know about his qualities as a PL manager.

The Nigerian Tribune are reporting that we are talking to Frank Rijkaard.Honest.

This should cheer everyone up a bit, this lot are never wrong from my experience.

Good spot anyway. :)

He might not even want the Villa job if we asked him - now that would be embarrassing!

Hi there. New to the forums so be gentle!

In all of this I've seen us go from (apparently) wanting managers who have done it all (i.e. Ancelotti, Benitez) to wanting a manager who nearly got his club relegated (Martinez) to wanting a manager who actually did get a club relegated.

I've never felt so down being a Villa fan.

:(

He's a typical Blose manager...looking to do things on the cheap with guys who "work hard", have little flair and "get their foot in" at every opportunity - Bowyer and Ferguson being perfect examples. Gardner their best player but in same mould. Nuff said! They specialise in"spoiling". We want better than that! It's mid/low table shitty style football. THAT's why I don't want him!

If I was him I'd stay well away, he has one big task before a ball is kicked and that is to win us lot over first. That is some pressure he will be under. Imagine if we lost all our pre-season? The opening game would be a very nervous affair. He must be either mental or very confident in his ability to want to come here.

Yes, it appears to be a big let down at the moment, but keep the faith, a quality manager will be coming, i'm sure.
