Villa will not deny it because every time a new speculation comes up it would mean them having to deny it which means when they don't then deny it  then it implies there is something in it . They do not want to say anything until it's in the bag .

But It will not be McCleish !

price crash on betfair backing mcleish

hope yuo are right MM

really do

i hope he is right too, I've been laying him around evens for the last few hours  ;D

Even without MM, I just cant see any way McLeish will be next Villa manager.

Fingers crossed, the board are close to someone decent. In a way after almost everyone wanting Ancelotti at first, to now everyone to a man saying anyone but McLeish, no matter who the final choice is now they are likely to be given a decent shot by the supporters. Hughes, Coyle, Moyes etc are likely to be welcomed with open arms.

please will people cop on with the simon grayson calls. one league 1 promotion is not a good enough CV to be manager of AVFC. His CV is even worse than Martinez.

If McLeish takes over then I'll purchase a season ticket just to send it back.

The more I think about it, old Benitez was spouting off all over the place a few weeks ago, but has been very quiet recently, so I reckon he's still being kept dangling but asked to keep quiet about it, whilst target 1 is still being pursued.  I reckon that's Moyes, because I think Kenwright would have said something about the speculation this morning if it was BS.  If Moyes decides against it, then we'll go back to Benny.
I had the "pleasure" of a three hour drive from London to Gloucester this morning, so thought I'd listen to Talksport, which i wouldn't normally do.  What a load of bollocks!  I think they have a vested interest in the betting markets too, just like Sky, as they are heavily sponsored by Betfair and really do spout shite to drum up calls and change the markets.  Seeing the link to their website when I got here saying Moyes is a no-no, Brazil and co had spont the morning talking that up.  And as for the ill-informed bollocks about us being skint......Hats off to Randy and the boys for keeping them all out of the loop.
It would be nice, however, if they just came out with a snippet along the lines of "we are still actively pursuing targets, but be rest assured we aren't going to appoint someone shite like McLeish...."

MM are you still sure Mark Hughes isn't in the frame?

Yes

Ok thanks, just had this guy on my tweeter who claims to hear odd bit of news saying it's Hughes 110%.

I was feeling pretty shit from the moment on Sat night we had wind of the McCleish story ( I should have known better )   until I got a call around 10.50 pm last night and now things are looking a lot lot  better .  General Krulack wasn't in the Marines for nothing  an expert on divertionary tactics which are coming in handy at the moment as our lads sit in the trenches waiting for the call to go over the top  .
.

I now have a vision of the final scene of Blackadder.

That's made me chuckle and PF and RL doing the Eric and Ernie dance as they go over .

Well it reminded me of when a bunch of us 'hooligans' charged at a rather large mob of Cardiff fans, in Cardiff,  in the seventies.... That ended well.   Erm. I think it was Cardiff. Don't remember anything after the first ten minutes.

I'd be really pleased if we miss out on our number one target (Moyes) and get our second choice (Benitez).

I'm not sure that shouldn't be the other way around. I like Moyes but might prefer Benitez.
Oh, I dont know. Me 'eads gone.

I'm keeping a clear head and am reasonably sure it wont be AM. However one thing is causing a nagging doubt - the Corsica thing.

Wasn't it confirmed last Thurs that Randy had flown to Corsica, then SSN reported last night that AM had emailed his resignation from Corsica where he is on holiday...?
