what I find hilarious is that our manager search is such big news for the likes of Talksport and BBC radio. They can't figure it out at all. It's meant that Chelsea have been completely ignored despite having had their manager removed before GH was officially "removed".

At the risk of my own health I was listening to a podcast with Pat Murphy the other day. He was reeling off all the names that were according to his "sources" (none likely actually linked to Villa off course) are no longer in the frame for the job. He was almost in a lather about who we could appoint now and that to think we could do better than McClaren meant we would be punching well above our weight. That we should check our ambitions. We should be fortunate with a McClaren or Martinez, and why would Moyes ever step sideways.

For those who felt Villa were a little ignored last year, get your fill now. What will top it all off is an appointment that is more than they ever expected we could manage, and someone none of them had a clue about. That would really get their tongues wagging, or at least until such time they could talk about Chelsea again.

MM are you still sure Mark Hughes isn't in the frame?

Yes

This does seem strange.  Not my first choice, but can we afford to completely rule out a very decent candidate like this?  I presume there is a good reason, I hope it's not just because he activated a clause in a contract which both parties agreed and signed up to?

If we can't get the likes of Ancelotti, Benitez etc, then I'd be much happier with Hughes than many of the other supposed candidates.

This is what's amazing me the most.

Every day when a new manager leaves a club, or excludes himself, the papers have a field day, naming every manager under the sun.

I just wish we had a clear picture from Villa's perspective.

So MM says it might be DM or MH to replace GH and some people are putting 2+2 together and making 5 as regards AM.

And it's all over TS, BBC and WM. People complain but it's not as easy as ABC or 123 for RL or PF.

It's a loyalty issue,  apparently he agreed to an extention to his contract, Aston Villa come along and he ups and leaves....If he can do that to them, he could do that to us also.

Quite.

There might be a few people on the QT maybe ITK, possibly working for the BBC.
But the FM position should between AVFC, the CM, CE and not bandied around TMOTT.
Keep NOTW, TS, DM and all that lot out of it.

I'm keeping a clear head and am reasonably sure it wont be AM. However one thing is causing a nagging doubt - the Corsica thing.

Wasn't it confirmed last Thurs that Randy had flown to Corsica, then SSN reported last night that AM had emailed his resignation from Corsica where he is on holiday...?

Although I can see the logic in your reasoning, I'm still sticking to the theory that is was Colonel Mustard, in the library, with the candlestick.

Surprised that Graham Taylor has got swept along with all the 'stories' and spoken out http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13752298.stm

I'm sure it's elsewhere on this site so sorry if it's duplicated.

I'm still waiting for an appointment that will put these media eejits in their place

Its a bit harsh if we've caused him to leave his club and then left him high and dry.
