Having spoken to an impectable source - I believe David Moyes will not be going to Aston Villa as manager.

If it's meant to be hush hush from Aston Villa and Everton would these Journos have a chance of finding out?

Maybe he isn't coming...Will see at 2pm when Everton do the presser.

Everton are doing a press conference today?

He was never going to be really was he?  All the bullshit tweets online have turned out to be just that.

Still convinced it'll be Hughes but I know as much about it as anyone else on here, ie sod all.

I think that Moyes and Hughes are much of a muchness...  capable British managers who can do a job, the ceiling of which will be budget related. They will attract a certain standard of player who will do a job for us
I would just love a spark of excitement tho.. the thought that anything is possible. Maybe a Rijkaard or a reincarnated BFR   just someone to light the fire and to reignite the passion at Villa Park

The problem if it was Rijkaard is that it would only be a temp job in his eyes until a bigger better job comes up.  cant see him being there long term.

It will prob be to say that Moyes is not going anywhere and EFC have told villa they are not allowed to speak to their boss

lads, stop using bookies odds as a sign of who the next manager is. these new manager markets are great publicity for bookies, I doubt if you walked into any bookie today and tried to put 500 quid on any outsider that you would be able. The stories of people putting 10k on these kind of markets are bullshit.

I've just laid McLeish on betfair, I refuse to believe Randy Lerner is that stupid to take a risk on there being 10k less season ticket holders next season.

Or to announce that they've signed Sergio Canales from Real Madrid.

Although very frustrated at the lack of action i have a growing regard for the owner. There would hardly be any other club in the premiership that could have even those close to the club totally in the dark as to who the likely new manager may be. If insiders at the club can't get any information then the security at the club is water tight.
Is there to be an announcement from Everton this afternoon? if so and it was about Moyes why wouldn'y they just release a statement saying the rumours were rubbish and he was staying?

Worrying how everybody seems to be seeing us now isn't it ... They might be but 90% of neutrals I discuss footy with see Villa exactly the same way!!!
Which clubs are not selling clubs, other than those with literally endless amounts of cash - i.e. Chels and Citeh? Blimey, just look how many players have leaked out of Sunderland!
Those clubs with the player-assets will get stripped by those with the cash. End of.
In our case, it is slightly more high-profile because we have sold our "best" player at the end of each of the last 3 seasons; no coincidence that each player had just become an established England player and that clubs are desperately trying to bulk up their quota of English players in advance of FFP.
We shouldn't get hung up about the players we sell (although I admit it's irritating and slows our prgoress down), as long as we continue to develop new youngsters that can grow into P'ship players and continue buying other youngsters sensibly.
