I've wanted Moyes since the start, and I agree Villa is possibly the best he could hope for in the medium term, but i'm really beginning to believe he is that most rare of things, A loyal Manager.

What might put him off is finding the same sort of financial restrictions here that he has at Everton.

if its a question of 7m to get moyes, isn't Ancelotti on 6m not to manage for a year. If thats the case wouldn't it be cheaper to buy out his clause

Pay 6 million to buy out Ancelotti's clause, then you would still need to pay Ancelotti 5 mill a year? or whatever he would expect.

I think there are a few more twists and turns yet to come.  I still think Mark Hughes will be appointed as he is currently on his notice period and is free from 1st July.  I'd prefer to see Moyes but I cant see it happening.  Alot of rumours flying about that Big Eck will get the everton job and Moyes will take the villa job.  Alot of people saying that "why would Moyes take the villa job?" and "he wont have much funds at villa & it would be a sideways step!".  I personally think, he will have more money to spend and agree that it is kinda a sideways step but sometimes in a career, you have to move sideways to then move upwards.
I think the villa job would be good for him, IMO anyway.

I think pratt Murphy about sums it up, He's a complete tool

Murphy can't discuss anything without having a little dig at AVFC. Heard him this morning confirming McLaren to Forest and he said that "most people in football will agree that Forest's gain is Villa's loss".

Moyes may feel how Taylor did when leaving watford and after 9 years need a new challenge.

Can't describe how much happier I am to be contemplating Moyes as manager today as opposed to McLeish yesterday. If it had worked the other way around and I would have had to think about McLeish at Villa on a Monday morning, I think I would have paid a visit to the top of my building to take a running jump!!!

I think Moyes is exactly what we need. Like others are saying, it may be something of a sideways step but I think he would certainly view it as one where he could bring us upwards. More so than he could do at Everton.

I dont think many Everton fans would begrudge him either. I think there is a feeling that he brought them as far as he could.

What might put him off is finding the same sort of financial restrictions here that he has at Everton.
And also a restriction in his power and responsibility at Villa, following the Board's reticence to allow another MON type reign.

I think you'll find that Betty does the sauce in the Rovers Return.

Did he really say that?

I think McClaren is a good fit for Forest. I don't think he'd have been a good fit for the Villa.

Well i'm sure he'd have a bit more than the 6m nett he's roughly had each year at Everton, but enough to tempt him to jump ship? Doubtful.
