Moyes has signed a new long term contract at Everton.

Press conference today.

Oh come on. There wouldn't be a press conference for the manager of a middling club signing a contract.
It would have less exposure than the announcement that Creme Brulee were reforming.

Creme Brulee are reforming! Fuck me! Great news at last.

It would kill the story dead though. I think it's more likely to be this than announcing a resignation. Why call a press conference for that, it just needs a statement released.

Alex McLeish signing Marlon King before leaving Birmingham City Football Club is like doing a massive shit in the work toilet before clearing your desk.

heh. If Marlon is a masive shit in the toilet, I guess Ireland was doing one in the desk draw.

Oops!

I still think that could be the case though. Make a big thing of Moyes staying, kill the story and Villa fans can go back to worrying about McLeish.  ;)

Would you release a statement for someone who has been at the club 9 years and if Villa are paying 7 Million for Moyes wouldn't it be better for Moyes to say a few words before he leaves?

He has been a good servent for them after all, Everton fans can't moan if he decides Everton don't have the money to compete, that's not Moyes's fault, but the clubs.

Thing about Moyes is that if he doesn't take a job like Villa, as in a slightly sideways move but with a bigger budget to work with, what will he do?

I agree, John.

Moyes would make sense. He'd get the backing here that he's un-able to receive at Goodison. He'd still get the chance to really run the football side of things - something he mentioned in those quotes when GH was still in charge. I'm not saying he'd have the amount of power that he has at Everton, but then he's been up there for years and earned that level of authority.

It seems he's also friends with GH as well, so it wouldn't be too surprising were they to have to talked about him taking on the role. It's only surmising of course, but it's possible that GH would have recommended him to Lerner. From GH's perspective it would make sense too. He'd be able to see it as a logical progression for him, rather than having his work ripped-up and started anew by someone he doesn't know or with whom he has no rapport.

He's the best candidate for me. I voted for him in the first poll we had on here and nothing has happened to change my mind since then. He has an eye for a player and his sides are difficult to beat. The fact that he's done it at Everton without being given a fortune must have brought him to the attention of Randy.

Oddschecker now has Mcleish drifting out across the board and Moyes shortening on most.

Why?

If you were him would you stay on Merseyside or where would you realistically go?

It's groundhog day.

The morning spent chewing over the bullshit from the night before and wondering if there was anything to it.
The afternoon is spent finding out about the latest unrelated bullshit that happens at other clubs and trying to give it Villa relevance.
The evening is spent freaking out over said unrelated bullshit.
The night is the spill over from the evening until the latest Twitter bullshit excites everybody.
Repeat.

if its a question of 7m to get moyes, isn't Ancelotti on 6m not to manage for a year. If thats the case wouldn't it be cheaper to buy out his clause

They've remastered 'Voodoo Lady' as well.
