I wonder what HoltePaul would make of it.

HOLTE PAUL BY EMAIL TO US

This is all daft playin' games.

Arguing for the sake of McLeish!.

Other people that , although I know it probably isn't for the best, I'd love Villa to appoint Guardiola - It ain't gonna happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Andy Gray , Martin Laursen, Olaf Mellberg , Kent Neilson - and many more, all in a Summer sale!

my heart ruling my head - but I'd love it for the beast in me to appoint Pele.

JEEEEESUS -this site is now kids picking fights.

For F sake - people on here are suggesting David Moyes , bloody Alex Ferguson for god sake.

tedious little turd from Japan!!!!!! Wenger, oh come on now, do the locomotion.

I can be a taepot as well ! Bring it on!!!

HAHA! Class.

I have been told that Mcleish may be going to Bolton after Coyle replaces Moyes at Everton. This is from the Blues end of things. I'm clinging on to that.

I'm doubtful on Moyes.  Maybe its Coyle to Villa?

Would be happy with that for sure. Never likely to happen but bring Cahil and Sturridge back to Brum and he would be an instant god.

Firstly we haven't had a new poll for nearly an hour now.
Secondly, we have to accept our new manager will be someone who has thrown his toys out of the pram and quit recently. You can only vote for one person -

Mark Hughes
Alex McLeish

if mcleish is unveiled as manager it wouldnt surprise me if some people think its really moyes in a mask.

IF moyes was coming he would have quit everton rather than close sources to him continually saying hes not interested in managing villa- we may well wish but it will not happen in my opinion sadly.

Quitting Everton and not doing things properly would instantly put Randy off. Where have you been for the last 5 years?

If only Ashley Young had known. 2 days earlier and he never would have left the club.

He said he was not interested in leaving Everton when employed by Everton. The two things are very different!

Yet it was only a couple of days ago you were suggesting that it could happen. You change your tune far far too often Eastie.

Does anyone else think that the General's posts suggest the new manager will have little or no money to spend?

And that may be why we seem to be scraping round the bottom of the barrel?

No.

Haven't the General's recent posts placed plenty of emphasis on compatability with current players and developing youngsters, and made no mention of the new man having to be good at signing proven top quality players?

Isn't asking permission to speak to Martinez scraping the bottom of the barrel?

I wouldn't say Martinez was scraping the bottom of the barrel. I thought he handled himself extremely at the end of the season (keeping his head / taking the pressure off the players) and that probably made the difference between Wigan staying up or getting relegated. I think he has the potential to be a very good manager myself.

All that is quite possibly true, but still, to me, our interest in him suggests that we are looking for a guy able/prepared to develop a team rather than buy one with lavish funds.

I wouldn't disagree with that conclusion at all :-)

The General said we had to wait a week or two before a new man would be in place. I know at times we're all impatient but keep faith, Randy has never let us down and he won't do it know. But I can't see it being Moyes, no matter how much I try and convince myself.
