Maybe the fact he was blues boss is clouding some judgements?

Somebody here has got bad judgement that's for sure.  How is that bet on Slaven Billic working out for you?

my point is that although he would be nowhere near my top 5 list of candidates if he is chosen as our new manager he will get my full support.

If mcleish was coming from rangers would fans feel different?

As it stands he took blues to their highest league finish in 50 years, into europe and won them
a wembley cup final.

His purchases of dann, johnson and foster were shrewd too.

He got them relegated twice and they were the league's bottom scorers.

He did that on purpose. Come in Agent Fuckin Eck, your mission is complete.

We want the best possible candidate for the job, based on recent form.

On those grounds McLeish is nowhere near the best possible candidate.   He might have been impressive at Rangers, but in a League where only two clubs are ever in position for the title.

Perhaps he is in line for the Chelsea job?  We can but hope  ;D

Eastie, sometimes being in a minority of one doesn't necessarily mean that you're wrong.

However, you're going to have to do a lot better if you're going to persuade even one other person of the benefits of McLeish as AV manager.

Right, whereas Martinez wouldn't have, despite relegating nobody?

but dave, you cant make a silk purse out of a pigs ear!

Given better players and resources he may well succeed here, hes managed at international level, and at a huge club in rangers and is far from as bad as some portray.

Maybe the fact he was blues boss is clouding some judgements?

Leaving the Villa/Blose side out. If Prem Experience was high on the agenda for this appointment, then leading a club to relegation twice isn't great on a CV. If you are going to give him credit for the cup (Arsenals last minute lash up) then you also have to hold him accountable for relegating them, twice.

And for every Dann they'll be a Zigic.

Why have we become the laughing stock? We're not the ones now being associated with Billy Davies!

Does anyone else think that the General's posts suggest the new manager will have little or no money to spend?

And that may be why we seem to be scraping round the bottom of the barrel?

No, the fact that he got the same club relegated twice is clouding my judgement Eastie.

The fact that Blues played fucking dire football under him and played 1 up front more often than not is clouding my judgement Eastie.

If he was that good, another club would have come for him before now.

McLeish doesnt really fit into the Generals's comments of 1 or 2 weeks does it? Ill go with the thought of Blues Board buying M.King without his consent, the confirmed sales of Dann and R.Johnson and possible sale of Foster, McLeish realising he didnt want to risk his rep by not getting them promoted in the 1st year back where they belong. A wise choice IMO.

I think it's Moyes to Villa and McLeish to Everton.
